Snoop Dogg allegedly has an IQ of 147 too...
A lot of famous people actually have insanely high IQ's. I thought about it a while ago about why these people all get famous. People with high IQ's can understand patterns and trends just by absorbing data. They can then put themselves at the right place and right time to get successful.*Mechanical Engineering Crew*

Quite a few of them do have interests in a variety of STEM subjects or other disciplines. They simply enjoy acting/singing/whatever and happen to be smart enough to realize that is where the money is. I love my STEM job, but you better believe if I enjoyed acting and was any good at it ( I don't and am not ) I would do so in a heart beat and probably contribute to open source projects in my free time.
I hate to break it to you, but for the vast, vast majority of people, 'it' is about money. Maybe life as a whole isn't, but working (no matter what you work at) definitely is. Money is the best tool to provide life satisfaction and security, earn enough and you're free to do whatever you want to seek fulfillment.

If they have an interest in STEM, why don't you see them at talks, interviewing smart people, being ambassadors of science, etc? Hmm...they tend to only give a chit about some political talking points. Beyond a certain point, money is meaningless. If you were a multimillionaire, why would you not seek to better your own understanding of the universe?
Here is an example of an intelligent athlete. Probably not a celeb, but I'd say it is comparable. Note that he chose to retire and study math rather than continue to get his head smashed. Smart man. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Urschel
I mean...to educate yourself, you simply have to watch a few youtube videos. These people with millions of dollars can't do that? Doubtful. They are too busy having sex and doing drugs.Last edited by wincel; 12-02-2019 at 05:56 AM.

Being smart =/= enjoying math, science or technology. It simply means you are smart and good at problem solving. Figuring out the best way to pay your bills is a problem to solve. Plenty of people gifted in one area, be it intelligence, athletics or some other area, choose to do something else simply because they don't enjoy the activity they are naturally gifted at.
Why be a neurosurgeon and make $1mil a year while hating your job for 12 hours a day for 30 years when you could make 10x that doing something you like? For most people life isn't about learning or going to 'talks', its about doing what they enjoy. The people you see learning and going to talks are the people who enjoy those activities.

Math is about solving problems. I've never heard of a smart person who sucks at math. I actually believe math is necessary, but not sufficient for intelligence. Neurosurgeons are glorified tradies. There is a kind of false equivalency in the world. Some professor of history or drama thinks they are on par with a professor of physics. It simply isn't true. There is a fking hierarchy, and celebs should know their places. They are popular, but inferior. Smart people are automatically curious about solving problems and quickly discover STEM is key for that. They are also often involved in areas like economics too.
I will say this, Shakira is clearly more intelligent than say, Gucci Mane. She's smart for a celeb, but that isn't saying much.Last edited by wincel; 12-02-2019 at 06:18 AM.

Because other people value different things in life?
It is actually common as hell for people that are gifted to have mixed levels of ability- or IOW to be very good at some things and relatively poor at other things.
C'mon guy, straight up logical fallacy here:
I'm smart and I like math and science. So that means (i)all(/i) smart people like math and science. People that don't like math and science aren't smart.
I would say I am strongest in 3 and weakest in 4:
ETA:
- you don't really have an 132 IQ
- you do have an IQ of 132, but this class is in an area of weakness for you, doesn't interest you, is taught in a style that doesn't work well for you, or maybe is just a very tough classINTP Crew

High IQ doesn't mean you should be automatically drawn to STEM. It's a measurement of cognitive ability. If you're not interested in any STEM fields you're not going to be good at them just because you have a high IQ. It means you're going to be able to pick up and retain knowledge well in the areas you do want to study
