    Trap Pain

I'm dealing with some trap pain in my left shoulder during certain pushing exercises such as incline bench and dumbell shoulder press, however I can flat bench press and shoulder lateral raise just fine. The pain is a sharp pain and occurs during the movement and after a push day. However, the pain goes away after a couple hours but returns when I hit chest again. It hurts around the mid clavicle and towards the ac joint. I've visited a physical therapist and doctors in the past and they all suggested that it was shoulder impingement/tendinitis issue. I've been recently getting back into pushing exercises after a month of stretching and strengthening the rotator cuff and upper back muscles. Can shoulder impingement cause trap pain? Should I take more time off push exercises and focus on strengthening my upper back?
