Question Do anyone of you run outside when it's below 20 degrees F?

Just snowed and ice everywhere and really want to get outside and run like I was doing a lot in the summer.
Debating on whether it's worth it but running on the treadmill gets boring. I do have those yaktrax things that you put on your running shoes and they grip the ice. What do you think is the best way to dress for this weather? I don't want to be too cold or warm.

A few years ago I was going through Roosevelt, Utah between Christmas and New Years. The local college was doing some kind of Holiday 5k and it was 5 below. Based on what they were wearing I would suggest Santa Clause outfits with boots.

    20F is nothing bro.

Just wear trail runners, sports socks (no need for another layer), lined track pants (polyester lining only), base layer long sleeve shirt (polyester only), lined wind breaker, face mask (good for improving cardio and breathing efficiency) and a cap. You warm up before leaving the house and just gun it from the door and back.

Before the military I did myself for a while. I had to leave in March and I had to run in the winter time before that. The thing to watch out for is ice on the sidewalks. You have to kind of learn to wobble run at times if it's really slippery for certain parts and/or keep your balance so you don't fall. I don't remember falling once, but it was only for a few months and not every day (had a couple close calls where I had to fight to keep my balance). I lived in the capital of my state in a decent area, but it was an older place so the sidewalks were kind of slanted in some spots where water and/or ice would collect and/or form. Usually it was like every 100 to 250 feet I might encounter two sidewalk pieces that were slanted in with water that filled in the area and ice had formed. I usually avoided the really bad spots as I ran on the sidewalks in my area. It was basically a bunch of city blocks that kind of went in a mile each way for the most part. I'd just kind of turn to a random location and find somewhere new to run, but in the winter time I kind of figured out the best spots to run and such. I didn't learn it on my first run and such.

I’d go do it but I’d make sure I’m warm and I’ve got enough insulation to keep me warm in case of an accident. And oh yeah I’d tell someone before I leave with an ETA for coming back just in case.

Stay close to your place. Don’t go on a 5 mile run or nothing...lol

I was just messing with you guys, I go running in the winter all the time. Just wanted to get the convo goin but didn't want to sound like I was braggin.
I find it fun sometimes, get kind of an adrenaline rush going running in a snow storm, feels like you are running to try to save humanity like some day after tomorrow stuff.

Just have to watch your footing but as far as ice goes, I found these things work pretty good:
