I think you're arguing more from the point of basic pollution (which is definitely a real thing), rather than global warming. There is no doubt carbon dioxide/carbon monoxide emissions reduce air quality, and that plastic and oil pollution can interfere with natural marine ecosystems. I'm just saying I think it's far fetched to think it has anything to do with the changing of weather cycles. The evidence for this is cherry-picking or circumstantial at best I believe, but on the other hand I do definitely believe pollution in many forms is a bad things and does certainly exist.

I think it's irrefutably proven that there is global warming.
The distinction is how it's caused. Seems that the earth fluctuates a lot naturally. As someone said above, if humans are indeed impacting it negatively, it's other countries fault at this point and it's not going to stop. It's actually been proven extensively by Bjorn Lomborg that the return on investment on anything climate related is a seriously poor investment of money. The best thing you can currently do for green energy is R&D (for now...). It would actually make more sense to make O&G, natural gas, electricity, nuclear, etc. to everyone in the world to bring them out of poverty. This will allow more people to come up with advancements and should theoretically level out the entire human population (as people become more wealthy they don't have as many kids).
My issue is that it doesn't seem that the earth being warmer or colder is good or bad, it just is what it is and we will adapt accordingly. One positive about a slight warming is we can farm in more places and easier, therefore we're able to feed more people. Neat. If you're interested check out Alex Epstein. He presents facts on things like the climate and the O&G industry.

True. The government knows it can't just raise taxes (which a leftist government most certainly wants to do) by simple telling people to give them more, as this would most likely lead to rebellion, and them being voted out of power. So they need to provide a 'reason' for exacting these greater taxes, or a story, or narrative I guess. It's like extremist 'pastors' (yes in commas) who ask their congregation for outrageous donations, and then tell them they should do this because (narrative): they'll be accepted into heaven if they do. For the record I don't believe at all in these ministries of money. Let's not forget when Jesus cleared out the defiled temple with a whip and said firmly "do not make my house a place of business". Yet that's a discussion for another thread...

People should take a step back and look at the big picture - scientists are studying something that is 3 billion years old, they have accurate data going back MAYBE 150 years.
Also:
- Can the weather channel predict with perfect accuracy on Monday what the weather will be on Friday?
- They are using computer models to predict the future. The reliability of computer models is dependent on the data going into it: garbage in, garbage out.
- Science should be judged on empirical analysis, not on who is making the statements. "The science is settled" is an oxymoron.
- How have the previous predictions stacked up? Prince Charles quoted scientists in a speech 10 years ago saying "we have 10 months until we reach an irreversible tipping point". None of the predictions have come true since 1988.***Trapped on prison island crew***

The thing that really makes my blood boil is that those who want to make us pay more money to "fight global warming" aim to send that money to China, India, and a host of chithole countries that are "buiding their economies" and yes, make us pay to help them clean up. Afterall, we can't expect them to pay to clean up their own messes when they are striving to build a quality of life when every American is rich by their standards. Yes a bit of a rant, but I see what they are really doing.
Like others have said, they need a reason to tax and regulate/control you.

People who still believe the "climate emergency" hysteria and what they are fed by mainstream media at this point have minimal critical thinking skills.
It's no surprise that most of the people on the climate strike were kids...when you get older you generally learn how to analyse what you are being told, not just believe whatever is fed to you.***Trapped on prison island crew***

Do I believe that the temperature of the Earth fluctuates? Yes of course, this has been happening naturally since the beginning of time
Do I believe that the temperature change is caused by humans? No, we probably have a slight impact at most. The vast majority of it is natural
Should we increase regulations and taxes because of "climate change"? No that's straight up retarded, especially considering other countries are putting out way more CO2 per capita than the US

No disagreement but watch those little addons they use like "per capita". It's a technique to alter statistics. They will argue that China and India may pollute more, but less percapita because they have more people. It's not our fault they breed like the roaches they are, and the reason they may not pollute as much per individual isn't because they are environmentally responsible but because they can't afford to.

And let's not forget that China and India are "developing" countries in the eyes of the U.N, thus they can INCREASE their emissions until 2030. If the powers that be were honestly concerned about this, they would cut emissions worldwide regardless of which country emits them.

I believe in global warming, BUT my controversial opinion is that due to advancement in techonology it will take care of itself (srs). Most people become irate in real life when I say this, but because they know fuk all about most things apart from what the media tells them, they don’t have any arguments when we get into it.

All lies, based on estimated data pre 1880
In the 80s thought we were gonna freeze to death
Obvious attempt at stealing wealth from big corporations and funneling it into liberal politicians
The sun affects most of our climate change
They use glaciers shrinking and ice receding as a marker for global warming, then when you point out that ice is growing elsewhere and glaciers are increasing in size they say "thats from increases snowfall because of climate change"
THEN STOP fukking using that as a metric you moron
Even when I was 16 I could read the studies and meta analysis and see it was a bunch of crap

Pretty much this lol. Climate change is yet another white guilt narrative aimed at de-industrialising and thus economically weakening the Western World while empowering the second and third world, who are rarely criticized in headlines (lol at thinking methane emissions from cows in the USA/Australia, or driving rather than catching the bus, is going to cause even a fraction of the CO2 emissions of say, oh??? I dunno, maybe the factory-based Chinese manufacturing industry, which employs 110 million people, or say... petrochemical refineries in the Middle East, both which cause disgusting amounts of air pollution...
Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in global warming, however I do believe in pollution, and yeah, apparently caucasians/civilized Westerners are solely to blame for it. bahahhaha, absolute piss.

Global Warming is a diversion.
The biggest threat to humans is the current state of crony-capitalism.
Capitalism works in theory, but when you throw in human needs and wants, you end up where we are today.
Big business rules the world and there is no stopping them since the masses are too dumb to know they could wipe them out in a cinch.

Nuclear fission is a decent option, but we still have no great way of dealing with waste. For thorium, the breeder reactors involved can easily develop weaponizable material, which is why it has not been adopted. However, nuclear fission is not exactly sustainable or clean energy. We need a huge project where we throw money at this like we did going to the moon. We need to spearhead a huge R&D effort to get us off fossil fuels for good. Fusion reactors would be great.
