    Whey protein

Does it really matter what brand you get? Isn't whey protein all the same? Thanks

no, some use only concentrate, some use only isolate some use blends of isolate and concentrate and sometimes there is casein (or some variation of) included.

This. Pick whatever fits your budget and macros, and you like the taste. If it's from a reputable brand you'll be fine. Type of protein only really matters with lactose intolerance and if you like like to cook or bake with your powder.

I've been asking this to some of the other people who work out. I've been regularly going to the gym for several years now. At one point, I was spending a good amount of money on buying premium-quality protein powders, usually from GNC. I would then make a quick protein shake about a half-hour before my workout. For a while, this was part of my routine.

And timing isn't relevant to the vast majority of people.

For sure, but the fillers that each company puts in their protein varies vastly. If you look at the labels, you'll get an idea (ie a 30g serving of one brand may have 25g of protein, while others may have 20). That and the flavor are really the big differences.

i use isolate and casein, just my favorites. basic flavor is my choice, for whey a good chocolate or vanilla. an exotic one like coconut toast for casein.

used to concentrate, seems to mess with my stomach.
