    Not wear and tear items. That's fallen under maintenance. And with an old fun, i assume, a beater car, those things you noted most car owners who buy a car with this intention, won't care about.

    You can also find a E36 M3 in decent condition within that budget. It's not gonna be the fastest thing around, but it's got enough grunt to be fun and there's plenty of aftermarket support. It was available as sedan, so it's family friendly and convenient if you don't like sliding seats around and crawling into the back.
