I’m looking at the big sales this time of year, and one of which is a massive deal, 16lbs of protein for like 75$, and it’s a brand I like. I was thinking about doing it to stock up for less, but that amount of protein could take me a long time to use up. Question is, does it expire? I know they have dates on them, but are those actually relevant? Or would I be better off buying in smaller amounts?

I found 2 tubs of protein powder in a rental property. They had expired 2 years earlier. I tried a scoop and it tasted like cardboard. I did a google search and one of the things I read was that if some of the amino acids have broken down or deteriorated, the protein powder has gone bad. Your body will not be able to fully utilize it and it will taste like cardboard. I threw it away.
