People who use the squat rack to do barbell rows...pls fuk off.

Seriously, 5:00pm every rack is taken and some idiot decided he needs to use the rack to hold the bar to do rows with 135lbs.

I went up to him and said "You could probably just lift that off the ground eh?" He was like "uhh....well...i like to uhh...yeah whatever I guess" then angrily took the bar down to the floor and I set up in the rack instead. He was like 5'5.

Agreed, so much extra space in my gym to just take a bar and do those.

This does annoy me. I have ONE free-weight squat rack in my gym and people use it for everything but squats all the time.

But it's a free country so I just work in some other stuff while I wait.

I have very bad lower back and cannot lift anything heavy off the ground. But I still try to row although bitch weights and getting the bar from the rack helps immensely.

No you shouldn't be able to needlessly use equipment and take it away from someone who actually requires it for the exercise they're trying to do. Like, sorry bro you can't use the bicep curl machine because i'm using it as a water bottle holder. Fuk outta here.

I do agree with your P.S. though. Powerlifting crews should not hit up commercial gyms, just like crossfitter crews shouldn't. It's important to be respectful of the other gym goers.

How is that relevant? If he was bigger than you would you have said anything?

I do curls in teh squat rack on chest day, srs lmao.

The 2 squat racks are right next to the "pec deck press" thing, I dont claim the whole rack but if no one is using it I sneak it some sets of curls and go back to where I left all my chit.

I do agree with your P.S. though. Powerlifting crews should not hit up commercial gyms, just like crossfitter crews shouldn't. It's important to be respectful of the other gym goers.
Why do you give such an extreme example? I mean if someone has a legit reason to use smth not 100% by it's intendend purpose, it's fine

BRB doing clean from the ground to overhead press just because the rack is solely for squats.

If they pay their membership they can use the equipment however they please.

    Look into a home gym.

It could take time to build up but you won't regret it. Use horse stall mats for flooring, and get a nice rogue or legend power rack...not a poverty powerline.

The hooks suck and you're going to hate it and you might break the spotter pins and say huh. I'm glad I wasn't under that lol.

Yeah, commercial benches often are not adjustable in any way and forces you to unrack with arms way too far. Which is = shoulder problems.

it still cheeses me a bit but i don't really get that angry at it anymore, ive seen a lot worse things performed in a barbell rack and maybe they have a legit reason (most likely not though)

i remember one guy who literally took up two barbells and a power rack, dude was doing squats with one bar, deadlift with the other, not even as a superset. I was like really dude? crowded gym at 5pm and you are taking up 2 barbells?

people lack gym etiquette but at the same time some people conjure up some rules that only them and maybe a few others follow and expect others to do the same.

if you don't want to deal with the bullchit of a commercial gym then go to another gym like a powerlifting one. yeah it's more expensive but that's the bullet you have to bite.
