Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has a “very, very important role” waiting for her in the White House should fellow Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders win his party’s nomination and then defeat President Donald Trump in 2020, the Vermont senator said.

“Her ideas are resonating all over this country,” Sanders told ABC News of the Bronx-Queens freshman congresswoman in a joint interview on Sunday. “If I am in the White House, she will play a very, very important role. No question.”

Sanders, 78, offered “no hints” about what gig he had in mind for the 30-year-old better known by her initials, AOC, but the sky could be the limit — as he didn’t say no when asked if he’d consider having her as his running mate, the minimum age for which is 35.

“I don’t want you to hear this, because your head will explode,” Sanders said in jest to Ocasio-Cortez, before adding, “I don’t know of any person … who has had more of an impact on American politics as a freshman member of Congress than she has.”

Sanders — currently staring up in the crowded Democratic field at progressive Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and the more moderate former Vice President Joe Biden — has seen a boost since receiving AOC’s seal of approval last month.

She joined Sanders for an emotional endorsement speech in Queens, followed by an appeal for donors to dig deep.

Ocasio-Cortez laid out her vision for the unlikely partnership to ABC News.

“It’s not just what we’re trying to accomplish, but how we’re trying to accomplish it,” she said. “What we’re gonna have to do in order to win our future back is to come together and transcend race, gender, class, [and] come across lines of religion, not in ways that erase each other, but in ways that lift each other up and acknowledge each other’s struggles.”

Don't forget that the people responsible for AOC spun off of the Bernie 2016 campaign. They saw how much they accomplished for Bernie, then kept the infrastructure together and then found and backed candidates like AOC with what they built under Bernie. Bernie and AOC are already tied together in that regard.

For anyone, even on this forum, to support the likes of AOC, even if you are a democrat (not you in particular since you are a liberal Canadian), says a lot about your lack of political intelligence, unless you are so brain dead to think that AOC has much value for even the democrats. She has a 23% approval rating, so even if you assume our country is divided evenly among republican/democrat she still has less than half of her own party that approves of her. She is little more than a walking punchline.

Being in a powerful position means nothing if you’re incompetent. Being the qb of a team doesn’t do any good if you suck as a qb. It just makes your team worse. Not really. And even if he gets a little support on some it isn’t nearly enough to overcome all of the other problems conservatives have with him. Calling him an independent means nothing unless you’re going to call everyone an independent. He is far left on basically every issue and has steered the democratic talking points further left than anyone in 20 years.
