My diet majorly lacks in fruit & vegetables. I eat a lot of oats, yoghurt, avocado, sushi, eggs, nut butter, and protein shakes lately. I do eat a few tomatoes and onions in there and have some cabbage cooked in broth as a snack sometimes, but for example buying a piece of fruit as a snack is just completly unheard of.
Is it really that important to be eating fruit and veges all the time? should I put my big girl pants on and be trying harder?

Put what you eat into cronometer.com and see what nutrients you lack, eat what you need to reach the minimums; if you can do that with minimal fruit/veggies than that is fine.
Fruits and veggies do have many health benefits in terms of nutrients, so they are as important to your diet as your health is to you.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
