I just left a situation where I was paying 30% and it was a pain in the dick. I don't want to ever do that again if I can avoid it.

Now I'm down to 5%. While this is not and ideal living situation. I think if I can get somewhere around 15% it will be a sweet spot between living conditions and how much of a financial sacrifice I have to make for it.

I'm paying 32% if my gross income on my mortgage. But I live in a major city. I definitely would like it lower but that's not going to happen where I live unless my income doubles

No mortgage crew, but property taxes / utilities / maintenance is roughly 5%.

Will all be changing by fall tho when new house is complete. Then will be roughly 30% on a 15 year mortgage, but then will down to 15% if considering rental income.

13.2991% according to my phone calculator. I have a pretty decent income, but I also live in a blue collar hood in Denver. Housing isn't all that important to me, it's mostly a place I sleep after work or hobbies. I'm not home often.

Also, I find blue collar types more fun to kick it with and we usually have similar interests.

I do save 42% of my gross though because that is important. If I paid more for housing I'd have to sacrifice savings or lifestyle.

Eh building equity in a house could almost be considered a form of savings. Unless you're forced to sell at a really bad time, house values historically track against inflation so you'll at least get out of it what you put in

My mortgage is about $15k a year, so not really very much.

It's the property tax and bills that end up costing the most

34% but I am paying extra into the mortgage. If I didn't put more into it would only be about 27%. I could also get a roommate and cut that in half.
hard to hate on a fellow wings fan but....

    i need to cut... badly.

    Around 35% = mortgage + home owners + property tax + utilities.

That figure will start dropping as I am pretty much done paying interest on my mortgage. In time I will put more money into the principal.

Property taxes are high where I live. Luckily the schools in the area are extremely good.
