I pay around 29%. Over 30 percent you are considered burdened. I’ve seen people go as high as 43-45%. I live in a very high cost housing area with lower median wages.

About 10-12% of pre-tax income with utilities included. About 14-16% of after-tax income.

17.5% of take home goes to the mortgage taxes included. Add in utilities and its around 21% id guess. This blows my mind considering i have a small ass home (1200 sq ft) and utilities are pretty cheap at about $275 a month. I pull rly close to $100k gross.

Makes me feel like im doing something wrong. mortgage is 30 year 4.5% interest on 100k and its $865 a month taxes included.

Because with the cost of living/rent and wages not increasing, static housing percentage at 30% is unrealistic.

I haven't paid 865 since I had an apartment in college

Yeah, truth. I feel as though i should be able to swing a $1500 mortgage but $100k just aint what it was 30 years ago. Luckily my family is fine living frugally and saving that other $800-900 a month my co workers spend on their mortgage. Lol

We rly are in a fukkin financial trap. Idk how a family can make it on $50-60k without assistance.

Terrible times when you hafta gamble in stocks just to barely have enough to retire at 65.

    19% pretax

    27% after tax

I’m counting everything I pay within that mortgage payment though, including HOA and property taxes, so it’s technically a fair bit less than that.
