im sure it was humbling for him but this is gonna be a different situation.
he knows he's gonna come off the bench and he's gonna get his number dialed more than a few times a a game when dame and cj are sitting. at least until nurk is back. also dame and cj are not harden and portland doesnt have the shooters and/or playmakers that houston had/has.
rodney hood is the only guy on the blazers besides dame and cj who can create his own shot. if that's your third best offensive player, there's really no harm in experimenting with melo as your backup 4. plus there's none of this 'he's the missing piece' pressure bullchit like there was last year. everyone is expecting him to fail. his defense won't be very good, but you'll see he's gonna find a role on that team.
