A vocal minority incessantly trying to convince the masses. It's the same same with other against-the-grain preferences/movements. If it's not constantly advertised it will die out--proving it's not popular--therefore constantly putting it in the spotlight creates the illusion that is has merit and backing.
Another common defense mechanism is when there is a competitive view they will try pigeon-hole them into some extreme category as a simple and childish way to dismiss everything they say.
I am only having fun in HTC/LTC threads anyway. Some people prefer certain types but when you start projecting that onto others you need to be kept in check - for entertainment purposes. I do feel sorry for anyone who legitimately criticizes the universal shape of attractiveness.
