    Must see episode IMO.
Absolute killer match between Lio & Angel for the CW title. The questionable finish will ensure a rematch too which is great!
Nice to see the CW guys getting the appreciation they deserve from the fullsail crowd after lukewarm responses from exhausted post-Smackdown audiences.

Women's ladder match was... wow... Mia Yim took an absolute battering. The match as a whole was a little patchy but respect for some of those brutal bumps.

Other matches ranged from not bad to bloody good too.

You guys better catch up on this while i'm catching up on AEW tomorrow night YA HEAR?

I watched a little, didn't finish. I've heard a lot of praise for this Mauro Ranalo guy, comparing him to JR in his prime, people up in arms over JBL bullying him, that he was the best announcer WWE had by far and such. However, that's all in retrospect because when I sat down to watch NXT, I hadn't been thinking of any of that.

Hooboy. Awful. His voice is just dweeby and he's the main announcer, so he's doing most of the talking. Not sure how/why people think he's any good, honestly all he did was lend a strong whiff of Indy air to the show. Did not care for him. That grungy overly hard music they constantly played, almost felt like a parody of sorts it's so over the top and uniftting to the show at large. I mean, yeah okay they're running around and kicking each other and stuff, but the show has like a PG rating so don't kid yourselves here.

I won't review the show, that what I saw, as I think at the end I would be more critical of it than positive and I don't want to come into the NXT thread just to dump on it.

Show isn't for me, though (note I was okay with the girl doing color and the English guy. It's Nigel McGuiness, isn't it? Always liked him)

watchout your comments bro about Mauro Ranallo he's a wonderful man and I want to protect him.
will rep when off spread for contributing tho

and yeah other commentators are Beth Phoenix & Nigel McGuinness.

I reckon the upcoming Takeover Wargames the night before Survivor Series is going to be really good. The takeover shows usually are because obviously it's the culmination of all the best feuds without the "other stuff" in between. What i like about NXT though is that the "other stuff" on the regular shows is people that aren't in the main storylines but they're giving them a chance to get over on by putting on a competitive match to the best of their ability. Compared to Raw where that would feel more like "go kill 7 minutes between two blocks of 20 minutes with no wrestling".

I'm digging how you have multiple layers of intrigue here with people feuding amongst themselves, competing for a spot at war games, then also feuding with someone else, and then on top of that people from the other brands come in to make a statement in the lead up to SS. I just think they're doing it pretty well.

AEW tonight though with a burger & sweet potato wedges + a pepsi max OOOOOH YEAH TUCKAAAAY.

The Cruiseweight and women's ladder matches were the highlight of the show for me.

The women were a "bloody" mess on this show. That Chinese girl hurt someone before if my memory is correct. Not a Mia Yim fan but she did show lot of toughness taking that bump after having her face legit smashed by a ladder.

Lio vs. Garza was easily the best match on the show. This would have been treated with crickets sadly on Smackdown or RAW. Keep the cruiserweights in NXT where they will be shown some respect by the crowd and where Vince can't job them out.

He is basically the young version of Jim Ross (brings unmatched passion to his commentary). Mauro is probably even better at knowing the name of wrestling holds, moves.

Michael Cole calling a spinebuster a powerslam is embarrassing. Poor kids of his generation listening to his nonsense babble. So glad his they have just kept him on FOX now.

Love Ranallo's historical references. For example a few months ago during either a TakeOver or episode of NXT he mentioned Buddy Rogers when somebody put the figure-four on their opponent. Haven't seen this wk's episode yet tho.

Nobody worked harder than Drew to develop his character. When he started he was a non-speaking guy who never won a match. The best I see Vince doing with him is making him a manager.

He had so much character development too.
From his goofy nerd persona doing his slide shows, to thinking he was Enzo's best friend, to then his darker mean streak that ultimately took him to the top of the division. And each flowed into the other, it wasn't like "take two weeks off and come back with a new gimmick".
Best thing for him would have been to go to NXT where they appreciate a little chain wrestling.
Cruisers best chance of getting over on Raw or SD is by being high flying daredevils. It's working ok for Mustafa... Lucha House Party if they weren't used as jobbers, etc etc... I don't see a Ground Based Offense being appreciated even from a larger guy.
