    Hey there, so basically

    27
    10stone
    5.11”

I recently got a personal trainer and have been training for a few weeks now.
I’ve been told by him I should be eating 3500 calories a day with at least 180g protein.

I’ve looked on online calculators and this says it should be about 2200 calories?

I am really worried about gaining a lot of fat rather than muscle, any help or ideas on this would be highly appreciated.

Also I’m very sorry if this is the wrong thread

.8 grams of protein per lb body weight and .4 grams fat per lb bodyweight.

I would go 250 over your maintenance and watch the scale daily and adjust from there.

Try to get in 3 servings of vegetables and fruit per day.

Caseyweaver, if you really want to be tight with your tracking then you need to be fairly accurate for a few weeks and monitor your progress. If you eat 3000 calories a day and are gaining weight too fast (more than 1-2 lbs per month) then you need to back off a bit.

If you aren't gaining weight fast enough, you need to eat more.

Real world evidence is at least 9000x more accurate than your trainer and the calculators you found online.
