46% of the country earn less than $30k annually. That's about $14.50 an hour. With so many companies paying so little for so many different kinds of jobs, what do you think the pay would be for jobs that pay minimum wage with no minimum wage?
Companies will pay as little as they possibly can and the vast vast majority of US workers have zero bargaining power nor do they have skills that make them marketable on the open market.
Those of you that worship at the alter of an unfettered free market need to do some freaking research and learn how the real world works.Early AM workout crew.

'When businesses fail to pay their workers a living wage, workers increasingly depend on social services paid for by middle-class taxpayers. Bernie has called this “Welfare for Walmart.”
What does “Welfare for Walmart” mean?
There is record inequality where the top 1% controls 38.6% of America’s wealth.
Bernie said, “At a time of massive income and wealth inequality, when the 3 wealthiest people in America own more wealth than the bottom 50 percent and when 52 percent of all new income goes to the top one percent, the American people are tired of subsidizing multi-billionaires who own some of the largest and most profitable corporations in America,”
In a cynical defense of corporate welfare, commentators for a corporate lobbyist group suggest it would be cheaper to just pay the tax penalty than to pay workers a living wage.
OK, but what does it have to do with Walmart specifically?
The Walton family, Walmart’s largest shareholders, is the wealthiest family in America, estimated to be worth $175 billion.
That’s more than 49 million American families’ net worths combined.
Walmart is one of the largest, most profitable corporations in the United States, yet it does not pay their workers a living wage and keeps workers as part-time employees to avoid providing healthcare benefits. Many Walmart workers rely on Medicaid for health insurance and food stamps to feed their families which are paid for by taxpayers, at a cost of at least $6.2 billion each year.

You believe that raising the minimum wage is the solution? You don't see a problem with your Democrats flooding the labor market with low skilled/unskilled labor with immigration? I'm sure you understand the economics of the Democrat immigration platform and what that means to the US workforce.
edit: I want to mention that I acknowledge that many scumbag Republicans silently support open borders, but the Democrats actively try to tell us why we need open borders even if it is against our best interests.Calls 'em like I sees 'em Crew

Technically everyone making over minimum wage is getting a $1 per hour pay cut seeing as now their work is worth $1 per hour less. Unless of course they are also getting anther dollar an hour but you know thats not happening.

My point is that companies have all the control right now. Employees have zero when in fact employers need employees but the employees as individual can't do chit.
So if companies refuse to pay their work reasonable wages then yes, an increased minimum wage is needed.
At one point in time workers literally risked their lives doing their jobs. That only changed when the government stepped in.Early AM workout crew.

Yes that's what they do because they're greedy, money-grubbing whores.
Worth $150 billion and their employees have to live off government subsidies because any wage increase just cuts into shareholder profits and to them that's completely counterproductive.

So the median income in the US is just over 30k. That means if the min wage was raised to $15 tomorrow, half of all workers will suddenly make just minimum wage. There is still no requirement for an employer to give pay raises after that.
The only way to force an employer to pay more is with proper market conditions. If the labor force has a constant supply of labor by mass immigration, there is never a shortage of labor. The value of labor stays low. If you aren't willing to do a job for a low wage, the employer will just find somebody that will since there will be plenty of labor available.
I just can't understand how Democrat voters cry about low wages and cheer on mass immigration at the same time.Calls 'em like I sees 'em Crew
