    600-pound deadlift in 2 months

Hi all. I started deadlifting 2 months ago and just pulled a 600-lb deadlift yesterday. I have never deadlifted before 2 months ago and am excited and also a bit scared about my rapid progress. I weight 210 pounds and am around 14% body fat. I am natural and have never used steroids or any supplements; I just eat right and get a lot of sleep. Should I start to take it easy? I really don't want to injure myself - I'm not even competing. Thanks.

If you're flying F-22s, the 600 lb deadlift is prob relatively safe.

injury is usually due to poor form, and poor programming, not really the amount you are lifting

In theory different parts of the body can progress at different rates. Muscle strength may develop more rapidly than tendon/ligament strength. I don't expect this to impact you deadlifting but if you are concerned consider trying to increase reps with lighter weights (and good form) rather than continuing to increase the weight to a new highest amount each workout.

What program are you following currently or if none then what set/rep scheme are you using for deadlifts?

Given this, I'd say 600 lb deadlift isn't unusual, regardless of the timing. As long as your form is good, there's probably nothing to be concerned about.

So you have been lifting for a while, then? I can't imagine a 345 bench in 2 months...

So you've been lifting for a while, just not deadlifting (which is kinda weird, but whatevs). So, you were already strong enough to deadlift 600 pounds, you just had to learn how. Basically.

Yeah, I think someone who can bench 345 in only two months of actual training is a prodigy.

If true you're a genetic outlier. Most guys won't hit those numbers after years of lifting.

He could just be an athletic person before starting his lifting career, no? I've read that some people will go through the novice numbers real quick.

I have always been very athletic. That paired with genetics (my dad is from Nigeria and my mom is a white American) is probably why I am able to hit those numbers and I'm only getting stronger.

Maybe I should have said that differently but I'm not trolling. I'll post a video of my deadlift next week. Genetics play a huge role and I'm just trying to let everyone know my exact circumstances in order to get better answers. I just don't want to have a life-long injury.

See the curtains hangin' in the window, in the evenin' on a Friday night
A little light a-shinin' through the window, lets me know everything is alright

I added dude on instagram... I am confirming dude is strong as hell for a noob... with kind of lousy form but does full Rom. Form will get better over time though.

Anyway to answer your question as long as your form is okay you shouldn't get hurt or be scared. The 515 Deadlift looked okay from that angle. I'd bet you'd feel stronger in bare feet than those squishy running shoes though
    Recent best lifts
    Bench - 235x9, 250x5, 270x1
    Squat - 295x8, 355x1
    Deadlift - 430x11, 445x8 455x7, 475x5, 495x1
    OHP - 145x10, 150x6, 170x 3, 190x1(@180 bw)
    3 mile run: 21:59 @ 170 bw.
BW - 180 Getting fat mode

Can you confirm he's a fighter pilot or small aircraft pilot from his instagram?
