I agree with this to an extent, but this is not a great idea on this particular car. Reliability + maintenance on these cars are definitely a big concern. There is a reason their value plummets so quickly. Also, the interior of that car looks rough by the pictures (maybe just the lighting?) You really need to beware because the previous owner(s) could have beaten the tar out of that car for 49k miles.

End of the day, it's something you want, and you can easily afford it. You just need to be financially prepared to pay the cost for upkeep and potential problems.

This was my dream car back in 2007. Now I can actually afford it, new, and I went and got a Kia instead. Go ahead OP, buy it, it will be the biggest mistake of your life. But at least you'll be able to tell people you had a Maserati.

Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. . . . If you really like the styling of the car, go for it. Don't listen to these phags.

These cars can be reliable if you take care of it. Change the oil every 3k. Change the coolant every 20k. Flush brake fluid every 2 years. Flush and change transmission oil. Lube ball joints. Park inside garage and don't drive in extreme weather conditions.

If you drive the car hard, its not going to last.

Sure they do. Obviously the performance would be a night and day difference though. You can drive the $hit out of a Camry as long as you are feeding it decent synthetic oil.

make sure to save up double of what you're paying for repairs.

i srsly don't get the rationale behind buying a used old luxury car unless you're collecting them, in which case the car in op would not be it.

The demographic for people who buy toyotas are those with less of a lead foot. That is how toyota got their reliabilty reputation. Its not because toyotas are more reliable. Toyota outsource their engines like all car manufacturers.

If you treat your car with tender loving and care, the car will last.

Toyota is a great company. But dont go around dogging on Maserati because youre an idiot. I personally don't like Maseratis but has the upmost respek for the brand and people who do.

You will not go in the grave with your money. Most things depreciate over time : Such is life. 27k ain't that much and there is still going to be a residual value to the car which he could get back.

If it's your dream car and you can afford the maintenance do it bro. Life's too short. I did the same thing with my dream car when i was 24. Looking back, i have mixed emotions. I took a financial L in the end because it was a maintenance nightmare and bad daily driver (and i can do all the mechanical work myself). Just be aware of the money you plan to shell out for it, and also don't buy it for the wrong reasons (aka thinking you'll get laid because of the car).

Also remember what Jay-Z said...if you can't buy it twice, you can't afford it.

I spent 1.2K on the coat that I'm wearing in my Avi "But but it's going to depreciate brahh, just go to H&M".

I spend about the same amount on my suits : It amounts to about 4 to 5k over the course of two years only for my workwear.

Give me a break : I enjoy wearing them and feel at my best when I do and that is <orth every single penny that I've spent.

I bet that the same guys that try to talk him out of it are the same guys that would gladly spend a fortune on other things such as watches or whatever : You are just not car enthusiasts so you consider it to be a waste of money.

To each his passion : It's his dream car and I doubt he would risk bankrupcy for borrowing 17k.

Do it Opie and enjoy it. If you get tired of it just sell it.

Hhhnnggg mirin. Looks joocy in that color and those V8s sound very sexual. Also for those brahs that keep asking; it doesn't come in manual. Most modern day cars don't

Don't do it OP. Your insurance will be through the roof and the basic wear parts have an insane cost. Unless your mechanic is willing to take a loss on working on your car you will cry when he hands you the bill for a brake job

The only time you should really accelerate hard is when you need to get up to speed on the highway fast or when you overtake. Because your car is already moving, it takes less energy to move the car more, thus less wear on the transmission.

If you accelerate hard from a standstill, that is where most of your engine wear and tear comes from.

Maseratis aren't really known for being racing/muscle cars. Their brand image is more about luxury with power. Same with Mercedes. Merc owners don't need to go from 0-60 in 3.5 secs at a stop light to prove anything to anyone. Thats just not the brand image.

But i mean you can drive your car hard if you want to. Its your car.
It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.
