Should I start stealing?

recently found out store employees arent supposed to chase or confront thieves so at yer own will you can pretty much take anything and walk out the store with 0 consequence (only from major retailers). you can even keep hitting up the same store and they wont do chit. maybe they will call the cops but by the time they arrive i'll be long gone.

right now in my city there is a huge thing going on with people stealing liquor from the store and just walking out untouched and unconfronted. seems like a joke that me as a law abiding citizen paying for these 1000% marked up goods when i can just take it and walk out the store untouched.

in the rare chance that i actually do get caught by police then what? i spend the night in jail, get out. sentencing in a year cuz the courts are so full. maybe the judge will give me community service or at most a few weeks in jail? its only theft under 5k. if yer working a lot of them will just make you do time on weekends.

There are some cities where the DA has publicly stated they won't prosecute shoplifting anything under a certain dollar amount.

it is pretty stupid. a coworker of mine who used to work at a retail store said the same guy kept stealing **** regularly and they couldn't do much it because they would be the ones in trouble

Thank the old navy employee that thought someone stole something and held them at the store under false imprisonment when they never stole anything and broke the persons arm and the case ended up at the Supreme Court

Home invasion is where the money is OP. You should look into that... especially if you're in a Blue state. They just have to stand there and watch you take their chit.
