The best religion is the one where you shut the fuk up, and keep all your BS to yourself.
When it comes to religion, I just mirror whoever I'm speaking with, if they believe in god, good, I won't tell them otherwise, if they don't, good as well. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

It wasn't that long ago Christians were trying to ban Harry Potter and Dungeons and Dragons for promoting witchcraft, and rock and roll was devil's music. Don't pretend like religious people don't try to impose their petty standards on everyone else. The only thing that has changed is that the religious right doesn't have nearly as much power over society anymore.

It actually removes the premise from OP's argument quite quickly. The bible can be pretty judgy and not just some obscure parts of Deuteronomy. Even the Sermon of the Mount or the parable of the camel and the eye of the needle can sound insanely judgemental.
Now even before Christianity existed those in control of culture pushed certain taboos on their people. For quite some time Christian had a big role in creating those taboos. And until the 80s they played an influential role of the PC police(rock music, Dungeons and Dragons). But with the decline of Christianity other groups are now coming in and try to fill the void and push in their ideology. They try to establish cultural dominance by establishing their own taboos. PC culture is not much different from the taboos other societies used to rule the silent majority of people.
It is just a little more self-aware due to originating from a university setting.
Miscers are still kinda trying to do similar stuff. Look at how riled up some posters here get about occult symbols in media and seeing satanism everywhere.Last edited by I3igAl; 11-10-2019 at 03:51 PM.

Deep: "On second thought, I don't play golf with broads. You're such a scumbag that I'd be much more inclined to just slap the chit out of you."
z4: "MMA match works, too. So when are you available this month?
Deep: "I won't subject myself to being in the presence of a scumbag."

And Atheism doesn't teach "being offended".
I'm an atheist and pretty much nothing offends me. I live in rural midwest, I see plenty of Christians getting offended and posting about it on social media. Though I'm not blaming Christians. This culture is not bound by religion, it's the spawn of social media and everyone having to witness every random person broadcast their (usually stupid) beliefs. This thread fits that category pretty well.
