Hello,
Hope you are all having a swell day. I’m a thin male 6’2, 175, who’s been working out the past year and honestly haven’t seen the best results. I’ve gotten stronger, however the astetic and size isn’t there like I hoped. The routine I followed with a gym partner was the Monday-chest, Tuesday-back, Wednesday-shoulder etc... and ate as much as I could which included junk, sodas, and not a lot of fruits and vegetables. I figured I just needed to gain weight and everything will work out fine, but that’s not working out. I’ve just gained weight in my midsection and am picking up a skinny fat look. I’ve finally realized that I have to face the hard truth about diet and eating right.
So I was wondering how it would look for me to eat right and still gain weight? Can fruits coupled with a whole wheat sandwich really pack on weight better than my typical lunch of a fatty Mac and cheese? I hope so and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for what a healthy typical day of food might look like that can still pack on weight.
Also I have decided that starting Monday I’ll do the 5x5 lifting program. What is the correct workouts look like I have seen multiple different programs. Thanks for reading!

Eat-in a 200-300 surplus and just get the calories in from dense nutritious foods. And if you cant get all your calories in from healthy foods, a pop tart or a cookie is not gonna kill your gains. Make sure you are getting enough protein and to calculate your macros. AS long as you are right at your protein you can consume the rest with carbs and fats. When im bulking my macros are usually at 50% 25% 25%. So for me about 330g of carbs 165g protein and 69g of fat.
