Whenever i take more than a week off my body has aches over neck, back , shoulders arms etc.... like I've strained it.
I never feel any aches when I'm training consistently every 2nd day... only when I take a period off it begins to happen in the second week.
Is this what's called delayed muscle soreness ?

Don't know, I find exercise loosens me up a bit and helps so it could be that, but I am trying to avoid jumping to any level of detail.
If OP hasn't exercised for a week or more then starts to get worse aches and pains I'd want to consider if the aches might be caused by something other than the exercise.
that's why I think we should exclude bed/sleep. It's a common cause of these issues
maybe work stress and work posture next (if OPs an office worker)
What I've found immensely useful: is to always aspire to "keep it simple" approach ("simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" DaVinci)
When there are a lot of things going on and there isn't an immediatley clear indication of the cause, just step back a bit, try to keep an open mind and list out the various possibilities starting with what is the most likely (in ideal world using the published guidance etc).
Follow down the list systematically one at a time to perform a diagnosis by exclusion.
Many people agree with this and say they do it, but in my experience very few actually do.
The more technical and specialist (and enthusiastic) the person the less likely they are to be able to see the issue outside the narrow lens of their own specialism and so least likely to be able to diagnose (especially an atypical case) in this way.
Anyway that's a huge pompous rant off my chest... which gives a chance I'll be marginally less obnoxious at work today - thanks for the free therapy SupraFaith in Jesus first and faith in squats second.
Then other details will start to slot themselves into place.

You're welcome.
I sleep on a futon that I bought second hand 25 years ago. I do occasionally get minor aches, but it's always from doing something that the body isn't used to, like spending 4 hours cleaning up the yard after the latest wind storm or half mooning the gardens in the Spring. It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.
It's easy to not be afraid of tigers when you're sitting in your living room watching a television program about tigers. When you're in the jungle where the tigers are, it's quite a different story.

Op states (post title) "a week or two". Do you start hurting that like hell 1 week later or 2 weeks later? that doesn't sound like usual DOMS.
FWIW I'm not thinking medical. Certainly will be interesting to learn what it actually was, after OP figures it out.
maybe we have a difference in US English versus English, because to me "mooning" is bending over and baring buttocks at someone (such as out of a moving vehicle, Window etc). I imagine your neighbors are used to your yard work, methods by now?Faith in Jesus first and faith in squats second.
