    Sudden deadlift weakness ?

    Hello everyone ,

I've been powerlifting for about 1.5 years. From the start , i've found conventional deadlift to be improving each training and i've progressed up to 240kg(530) for a single pull. Recently , i noticed my volume sets (usually 175-180kg 4x6 , 5x5) and heavy doubles, singles etc. (top set or when peaking ) have been feeling really weak to the point i can't even feel my core and feel weak through the whole lift. However, my squat is rapidly improving and feels strong. This has been going on for about 2 months. I deadlift 2 times a week (2nd variation is paused DL) , squat 2 times and bench press 4x a week. Any advice is appreciated.

In my opinion you are deadlifting way to much. Take a few weeks off from pulling. Deadlifting twice a week and squatting 2c a week will destroy your lower back

I tend to recover from squatting easily and they do feel strong . Should i do 1x a week deadlift volume with heavy top set and then maybe squat 3 times a week? And i also deload about every 4-5 weeks.

If I was squatting more than twice a week I wouldn’t even deadlift. Some might disagree with me. Squatting multiple times a week is one thing, but when you add in deadlifts it’s a whole different ball game

What program are you following? You need to properly manage your loads/recovery especially when you get to pulling big weight like that. Could also be poor recovery/stress/etc
