    Keeping track of your exercises

I got to ask, when you are reporting your dumbbell weight, (in this case dumbbell bench press), do you put the weight down just for the one dumbbell (because its a dumbbell, its separate, one arm, 45 lbs) or do you combine the 2, 45 + 45 = 90 lbs total. I feel like I am cheating, making it seem like I am doing more than I really am. Thoughts, comments?

As long as you know how it was recorded when you come back for the next workout, it’s not “cheating”.

For isolation movements (dB curl/ dB shoulder press/ dB bench, etc) I’ll record the weight of each arm individually.

    Yes just the weight.
If your your just using one DB then record that as a one DB movement like one arm DB press for example.
If you said standing DB presses then common sense you would be using two DB's.

The one dumbbell. If you're pressing with 1 45lb dumbbell in each hand, you should write 45 down. It's not cheating to write 90 as long as you can understand what it's saying in your next chest session, but i really don't think it makes sense to do it like that either.

I looked back at my Fitnote logs and it turned out that I was really inconsistent about tracking DB exercises. Also, with bodyweight exercises (eg. pull ups), sometimes it's added weight only and sometimes it's body plus added weights. It got confusing and stupid.

Now, for upper body, I count one dumbbell. For lower, both dumbbells. Body weight is excluded.
I can tell time. Time cannot tell me.

Formerly LactoseTolerant. I'm not very imaginative.

I notate "e" for each hand. 50ex8 means 50 lb
in each hand, 8 reps. 50x8e means 50 lbs in one hand, 8 reps, repeat other side.

I also write other stuff, "mom" if I use momentum in rows, "p" if I pause each rep, " 3" ecc" if I do a 3 second eccentric, "narrow" for narrow grip (I sometimes do a narrow grip burnout set). Sometimes just "fast" or "slow".
