Are energy drinks like Bang and Reign really that good for muscle growth?

I use them from time to time but are they really a good substitute for a pre-workout drink? I'm sure this has been posted before but I'm new to this forum and bodybuilding in general so please help me out

If you can stomach working out after a carbonated drink, why not?

It’s an expensive option but it’s just caffeine and a few other bits.

A pre alone won’t develop muscle growth so you’re not missing much there.

If you want the benefits of caffeine, then sure. They don't have a lot else going on though if you want a convenient tasty carbonated drink that is a decent pre workout and more than just yummy caffeine, look at C4 Ultimate 16oz cans

Well I just know they have aminos in them. I guess what I meant to say was are they a good alternative to pre-workout

They advertise aminos on the labels. They put just enough aminos in the product to advertise it on the label. I think there's less than 1g total in Bang.

My point of this thread was to find out if Bang and other like energy drinks are better or just as good as pre-workouts supplements that you would normally find at like GNC or supplements stores

Both the carbonated can drinks and powdered pres will advertise based on amino acids. Don't consider that a benefit or choose either of the types based on that is all I mean

Wow! Yeah totally not worth the almost $3 I spend. Definitely gonna get some actual pre-workout now. Hopefully I win that contest that stad0203 is holding!

Ah ok, my bad. So then does it not matter wether I use a Bang or C4 for pre-workout?

Quality preworkouts have a lot of other ergogens like citrulline, nitrates, betaine, and etc. etc. That are beneficial. Energy drinks are basically just carbonated water, and rarely ever have clinical doses of ingredients.
Supplement a good diet: don't diet on supplements.

Personally, I'd opt for the powdered version of preworkout.. Typically saves money & does better for gym performance.
But I tend to use RTD's when on a road trip, on vacation, appointments @ work, outdoor cardio..

Yup. REgardless, you don't need free-form amino acids anyway. Meet your macro and you'll be fine. If all you're after are feelings of energy, then energy drinks are fine. If all you want is the caffeine, just buy caffeine tabs at ~$.03 a serving and win the game.

If you have interest in pumps or focus as part of the pre, then no, the energy drinks are trash, in general, for that purpose.

    No lmao

    It’s junk just caffeine etc.

You don’t need any of that.

Just eat normal food that’s all you need.
