Need advice on choosing Metabolic Diet

I am a 47yrs old male who wants to return to weight training.

Im 5ft 9in weigh 170lbs and am 26% body fat going by a Tanita scale.

My goal is to change my body composition so that I weigh 168lbs and have 10-15% body fat.

I am considering using the Metabolic Diet to achieve this and using the Starting Strength program to increase my strength levels initially and then change to a Hypertrophy program.

I have one concern with the Metabolic Diet and that is that it can suppress or interfere with Insulin response.

For that reason I need advice on choosing between the Metabolic Diet and a Moderate Carbohydrate Diet.

If anyone can take the time to help with this it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Welcome to the forums. I suggest forgetting about the metabolic diet and following this instead: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showt...3439001&page=1

@Mrpb Thanks for taking the time to respond. I have read your advice but not the whole thread yet.

In my situation where I need to gain muscle and lose fat which should I concentrate on first?

Btw is there a particular reason that you don't favour the Metabolic Diet?

    It's mostly nonsense, scientifically speaking.
