Do Lexus, Mercedes, Audi dealers really treat customers better?

    https://www.automobilemag.com/news/s...ovements-3933/

That article is almost 10 years old now, but it claims the expensive brands treat customers better. Why is that?

Do they attract a higher class of customer?

Are they just better brands with better management?

Are they still just as greedy as other car dealers?

Do they still try to hit you with fee's and focus on monthly payments like other brands?

Is there service really better and more honest?

I've had so many bad experiences at Ford and Chevy and Dodge and Toyota dealers over the years that I had given up on all new car dealerships, but I'm wondering if the classier brands aren't as disrespectful to their potential customers.

Have experience in the following brands:

    Chevrolet/GMC
    Mercedes
    Nissan
    Dodge/Ram
    Toyota

All were the same IMO. Some good and some bad. Mercedes was def NOT better than Dodge for example. Have not been impressed with them at all. It's essentially the same people working at all of the different brands.

The audi my gf got her q5 from is really nice. Big huge waiting area with nice ****, espresso makers and snacks whatever. Fancy furniture etc. Very comfy place. They are always super good about her maintenance appointments and always give a nice loaner car if needed. It felt just... Different going there.

The Nissan I got my xterra from was nice people but very run of the mill set up. Nothing really nice about the place aside from the gtr on the show room floor and everything was pretty basic. I don't go there for maintenance or anything since it was over an hour away.

So in my personal experience I'd say yes it's different. I think this also probably applies to individual dealerships to an extent.
Yes... come and let us make an end of it. It matters not, even cornered, to my last breath... I remain who and what I am. I will not hide, nor tremble, nor beg. Let them come and reckon with fury that is DOOM defiant.

My GF drives luxury cars and they definitely treat you better if you actually are a customer. I'm sure if your shopping for a car they'll still dick you around like all dealerships.

-If your car goes down will tow it to dealership for free.
-If car is down or are doing routine maintenance they offer a loaner vehicle (Which is typically a luxury vehicle).
-Waiting room typically nicer. Nicer drink and snack selection for sure. Etc.

Might not go for ALL dealerships per say but a good dealership typically has good customer service.

Yes, IME I have noticed them to be way more courteous, and respectful of your time. Luxury brands understand their customers have choices and one of the biggest ways to keep them is by offering exceptional customer service. For example, I recently took my wife's Audi Q7 in for an annual oil change, tire rotation, and software update. Dropped off and was out with an $80k loaner within minutes. Got a call two days later my car was ready for pickup and went it the third day to pickup. Dealership looks and feels amazing! My kids love going there for the plethora of treats, play room, hop around in cars in the showroom, etc. Do keep in mind the oil change and tire rotation cost me ~$250.

There is a huge difference between the service "atmosphere" of the Lexus and BMW I had compared to the Dodge and Ford I've had. They all have fixed any problem I've had, but the BMW/Lexus service areas are way nicer, usually have free food, and they treat you like you're someone special. Only Dodge I've had is the Viper and it's scary leaving a car like that in the hands of people who usually work on minivans every day.

Treating you nicer? No. However the facilities are way nicer.

I do all my own maintenance now. The dealership was simply too expensive for me. Even if I did have the money, I would still do my own maintenance. It would be like throwing away money if I kept on going.

When I do go to the dealership for a part of something, I always steal a chit load of snacks.

My Benz dealer treats people well, the dealership has a gift shop, tv, free rides, coffee set up, nice continental, then later cliff bars and snacks, tablets and a fire place in the middle of the couches but are retarded I won’t let them change my oil even, but the a and b service notices on the dash bug me though and even with good maintenance by other shops only the dealership can remove the notifications

Free maintenance on my Jaguar, take it to the dealership every year, if I want, I get another Jaguar as a rental for free, or I get two free lyft/uber rides to wherever I want and back. Pretty sweet. Also always have a little breakfast setup (I always go in the morning) with like coffee, OJ, donuts, cereal, etc.

They for sure treat you better. All very professional and polite. Have previous experience with Jeep, Dodge, Mitsubishi, Honda, Toyota, none of them are rude or anything but they're just so much busier and hectic you're more of just another number type feeling.

IDK how it is IRL but in our business classes they told us they try to treat you better. They have higher margins on their cars so they use service as one of the selling points. They are supposed to do little things like reprogram your saved radio stations if they disconnected the battery, as an example I remember being given. That is what corporate wants. Whether the dealers do it or not when corporate is not watching IDK.

In the last 3-4 yrs I've been at a Lexus, Acura, and Cadillac dealers. Their 'customer lounge' a.k.a. waiting areas looked like lobby at a fancy hotel. And and they had free popcorn.

Bro.... oil change with the best synthetic oil should be $80 max and a tire rotation is $25 at the most expensive places. Where the hell do you get to $250.

Yes they treat you better in the sense that everything is nicer than say a ford or chevy dealership, and they offer to grab you drinks while you're with a service writer.

For example. Take Ford for a repair and just drop it off. When I go to pick up the car the waiting room is literally in the garage, basically outside. Its some crappy chairs for you to wait while they grab your car or whatever. Seat in the car is pulled way up for whatever manlet was driving it into the garage
Take my BMW for a repair, drop it off, they offer a loaner car (declined since I have multiple vehicles already), grab Keurig coffee and high end muffin on way out, come back to get car when its done. seats are super comfy leather. Offered drinks while I wait. Car is pulled into heated garage and they open the garage door after I get in (its cold right now) so I stay toasty. Seat is in the exact same position I left it. I don't know if they move it as necessary and then put it back into the proper position or just leave it there. Get a follow up call a couple days later making sure my experience was great. Audi was similar but they had free red bull.

i wouldn't say you get treated much differently. but the atmosphere is def. different. i drove a vw, mitsubishi, bmw and now an audi. female sales/staff are hotter at audi. drinks are better at audi (yes, mitsubishi had a coffee machine). waiting lounge/furniture better at audi.

the dealership building/interior design at audi needs to go through corporate, while i think mitsubishi is just whatever the dealship can afford. lol. audi's dealerships are generally 2-3x the size with open air concept with glass and aluminum, like an art gallery. mitsubishi was like going to the dmv.

bmw is same. really nice dealership. took my car in for service and mentioned i needed a loaner and that i was moving. they gave me a freaking yukon xl. i didn't even end up renting a truck to move. i just used the denali to haul my chit for 2 trips and that was that. lmao. GOAT dealership move.
