    5/3/1 Second Edition (reps)

For anyone who has ever ran this program and actual purchased the book can you look at my stats and tell me if this would be the right book for me to buy or if I should look into a different program completely.

    Stats: 5'10 -165

    1RM
    - Bench 245
    - Squat 185 ( I have tried running other programs but with how the weight moves up my form just breaks down
    - deadlift 345
    - OHP 115 I can hit 135 but my form seem to break a bunch on this.

what are your goals? this will determine whether or not it is the right program

also 531 has a thousand different templates not to mention like 3 or 4 different books

    need to be more specific

I've run 531 and I like it but it isn't a high volume program. My favorite 531 variant is in "531 Forever." Look up the powerlifting challenge and be sure to utilize "joker sets" and "first set last set." It's a smart program, but I respond better to more volume than is prescribed in 531.

Trust your squat. No way your max is only 185. You're getting stuck in your head space before the descent. It's a confidence issue, I had the same problem until I finally said fuk it. Good luck.

If you’re going to run 531 I’d purchase the 531 Forever book. It’s Jim’s most up to date methodology on 531. The templates in there and principles should last you your entire training lifetime.

If you have any questions once you get it let us know. The book isn't well organized unfortunately and requires you to have prior understanding of the 5/3/1 principles beforehand.
