Masvidal was just too much..Nate is skilled, but Masvidal was just so much stronger and polished.. Nate needs to swallow his pride and train with other trainers. He needs to have fresh striking coaches as well as fresh grappling coaches and conditioning coaches.. He is all heart. and at times that's good enough..But against someone like Masvidal, his old ways are far too predictable and he's an easy read.. Be it 1rd or 5rds. nothing was going to change..He woke up losing that fight.. Masvidal is too strong, too fast and too skilled..Nate had nothing for Masvidal, and this was a total mismatch..

It's not just about blood. Not all cuts are equal.
The region and type of cut matters dudes entire eyebrow was stitched up.
Eyelid could be damage. If another hit could cause the cut to spread to dangerous sizes.
Permanent scarring at best. Who knows, nerve damage, a brow that perm flops over his eye.
Nate was getting smashed. 3-0aka. Tomthetrainwreck

some sherdog post
Pre-fight: he was having fun and looked great
Round 1: almost finished Nate multiple times
Round 2: he tried hard to finish Nate in this round as well and almost did
Round 3: fatigue starts to set in a bit, Masvidal looks less confident but still went in to try and finish. in this round he already had less power behind his punches but he still does well (not nearly as well as rounds 1 and 2 but he landed some more brutal body kicks and managed to rock nate one time.
in round 3 nate hit masvidal with 5-10 power shots and lots of smaller less significant shots. it was nates best round of the fight but masvidal did edge it.
Round 3 End: Masvidal looks gassed out walking back to his corner. He looks very worried (it wasn't due to the doctor checking Nate because he looked worried even before that)
Also threw in a pic of Nate before the stoppage, he still looked ready to fight.
I agree with Nate when he said winning a BMF belt off a cut stoppage is bull****.. this rematch needs to happen. Masvidal already said he'd give Nate the rematch which is great.
Final note: I'm not a fan of either guy so don't @ me with some bull**** about being biased lol.

I agree Nate had no chance.
It wasn’t the same Nate that was surprisingly not rusty from the first fight with Conor. (Which is what originally made that fight cool is that Nate came relatively outta nowhere and still had it which was very cheeky and like able)
Sadly this time around that wasn’t the case. It almost seemed like a cross generation fight with Nate passing on the torch.
Jorge isn’t young but has his recent resurgence in skill and the way all his experience seems to have come together to where he’s figured something out and is peaking and is super effective.
Nate is only mortal and it’s clear he has receded.
Even if you consider the scar tissue, that’s not like the refs fault or anyone’s fault. That’s just a reality of fighting and unfortunately the scar tissue IS a liability and a downside.
That’s nobody’s fault. Nate had a long career.

I dunno I guess it was pretty obvious the skill difference to me from the start so I didn’t feel the urge to want to desperately see the rest.
Not sure why people reacted so strongly. It wasn’t like a championship fight and it also wasn’t close so who cares.
The goal was to find out if Jorge could school a guy like Nate who is a brawler too, and he did.
What’s the problem?

was anyone else reminded of the Diaz v. Dos Anjos fight? Total domination from Masvidal. Diaz has no power behind his shots, he needs volume and pace to wear you down, similar to Holloway.
All the Diaz fans are complaining cause Nate supposedly turns super saiyan in championship rounds... But Masvidal also has legit cardio and I think it would have ended in a lopsided decision. Masival is on the most exciting run in the UFC. Fuck a Diaz rematch, let's see him fight for the belt next.
also I hate to say it, but a Conor v. Masvidal fight at 155 would be bananas. Conor'd probably get smoked, but if he won his aura would be fully restored.Last edited by lazerhead; 11-04-2019 at 10:02 AM.

I cant help but to chuckle that the BMF-er fight was stopped due to a cut...Its the type of headline thats so ludicrous its hard to believe its true..
...and the fact that they had a WWE star hand out a fake belt was the cherry on the top. Whats the next belt they create since this hustle was so successful?

huh?
All I heard a year ago was how Conor looked exactly the same but Khabib was just so much better
someone pls explain
(we now know the truth is that he did look like chit but he was injured for a portion of his camp and on fight night)
If Conor looks like the old Conor in January, counting him out against Masvidal is retarded.
