    Protein Powders Causing Sweating?

I usually take around 30g of Protein Powder every day sometimes every 2 depending if I need some extra but I noticed after not taking it regularly and getting back into taking it i'm starting to get warm and sweaty like 30 minutes after drinking it, I assume its just my body working to break it down has anyone else experienced this from protein powders? Its also a lactose free powder mixed with water, i'm hoping if I stick through this uncomfortable phase my body will just adapt and this will go away.

No idea... doesn't seem like a normal response.

Certainly not ruling anything out. But if I were to guess, the protein powder isn't the problem. Especially since you only take 30g every 1-2 days. That's not much at all compared to some people.

High "Thermic Effect Of Food" due to fast digesting source.

    Adaptation likely to occur.

It's common for the body to get warmer after consuming protein.

When digesting food there is a thermic effect of feeding (TEF) which is heat produced from the body due to the energy used in digesting/storing the food. Normally the TEF is approx 10-15% of the calories consumed.

Thermic effect of protein is greater than that of carbs and fat. Thermic effect of whey protein is greater than other protein sources, probably because of the rapid availability of AA.

Speculation on my part: I think AA oxidation plays a large role in the thermic effect of whey protein.
