Eating 35 eggs a week bad?

So I eat 5 eggs a day with some rice and everyone around me has told me to stop. Im getting my blood tested on Thursday so we will see if my cholesterol sky rocketed. Just wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

I think that nutrition plan has you on an irreversible and inevitable crash into a binge session of Kit Kats and Oreos (insert favorite junk food here)...but seriously, aside from being very bland and boring, that is not going to be sufficient to support your goals (no matter what they are). You should listen to the people around you before they leave due to noxious fumes... couldn't resist. Best of luck.

Too much of anything can be bad. Not really because you're overdoing with one food, but you're allotting so many calories to that food, which leaves very little for other foods, which may lead to a vitamin/mineral deficiency in the long run.

Always better to stay varied. A little harder to track I know, but much better for you and probably much more enjoyable (unless you just love eggs that much lol)

I have 4 meals a day with a protein shake. I still hit all macros im just more worried for my cholesterol. But I do agree a lot of anything is detrimental. Im going to rehabilitate my whole meal plan starting Monday and cut down on carbs and add more protein. I was content with the amount of eggs because they're the easiest and most affordable source of protein.

I think this is pretty accurate:

"Apo B-100 levels tend to mirror LDL-C levels, a test routinely ordered as part of a lipid profile. Many experts think that apo B levels may eventually prove to be a better indicator of risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) than LDL-C. Some recommend the measurement of apo B to help with risk prediction when a person has multiple risk factors. Other experts disagree; they feel that apo B is only a marginally better alternative and do not recommend its routine use. The clinical utility of apo B and that of other emerging cardiac risk markers such as apo A-I, Lp(a), and hs-CRP has yet to be fully established."

For a while I was eating 6 eggs a day with 4 slices of peanut butter toast and 30 oz of milk as my only calories and all at one meal. My blood tests came back impeccable. Cholesterol is mostly determined by genetics. My dad eats steak/hamburgers and french for every meal for the past 20 years and his cholesterol has never been high

Would be more accurate to say: “the impact of dietary cholesterol on serum cholesterol is largely genetic”

I'd have to call my doctor and get the actual test results. She just told me everything was improved and really good. Outside of testosterone I really had no basis for what the numbers mean outside of the MD's interpretation

I would definitely ask. "Really good" doesn't mean much. It could have been 120 or 90 mg/dL for example, which would make a difference.

Your HDL may have been high which is why she said "really good", who knows.

So my test results came back.
    Cholesterol, Total 181 mg/dL (Desirable <200mg/dl).
    LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein), Direct 114 mg/dL (100-129 mg/dL NEAR OPTIMAL/ABOVE OPTIMAL).
HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) Cholesterol 52 mg/dL (Negative risk factor).
    Triglyceride 98 mg/dL (<150 mg/dL NORMAL )
On a side not my AST and ALT levels are high, I assume because of my alcohol abuse in the past 2 years but other than that my results came back. I will continue to eat my eggs lmao

    How high?

Mine have been slightly high since 1993, the year I began lifting and never went down since

I tell my MD they are up because of RT, they all have always denied that as why

    However read link below...

    https://bpspubs.onlinelibrary.wiley....5.2007.03001.x

Liver function tests are significantly increased for at least 7 days after weightlifting.
Would like to see newer studies on this as this is from 2007

Maybe Mrpb or Heisman have some they can share

Well it sounds like you like your eggs and you can certainly continue eating them.

But 114 mg is acceptable, not optimal. I'd personally be interested to see if it drops below 100 if you stop eating eggs. That would mean a small but statistically significant drop in CVD risk.

You can also try to increase HDL. Here's a few options: https://www.healthline.com/health/hi...o-increase-hdl

I don't think anyone was saying you shouldn't have eggs (I wasn't anyway). I still stand by my statement that planning for 5 eggs a day everyday is not optimal for nutrition or health overall.

What one can do and what one should do are
often not the same thing. Hard to say though, all you list as your nutrition intake is eggs and rice... hopefully more variety than that.

No I totally get it. I have 4 different meals throughout the day(ground beef, pasta, waffles, fruits, yogurt) including a protein shake. I will probably lower my egg consumption to 2-3 eggs a day cause I'm getting pretty tired of them and substitute for 6 oz of chicken.

    AST was 55 U/L (standard is 15-41)
My ALT was 76 U/L( standard is 17-63)
My doctor wants to have a follow up appointment to discuss those levels.

That's about what mine hover at the last 26 years lol

MD suggests Ultrasound which I got and always are negative

They don't believe RT raises liver enzymes so we don't discuss it no longer and Im convinced it's my long RT sessions that raise it

Ok makes me feel a little better haha. I used to party hard and drank like 3 bottles of whiskey a week for a period of time so it was little concerning to see those levels. What is RT btw?
