    2020 gt500 10.6 1/4

    10.61 in Stock Trim...

Tires , Pulley , and Tune away from a 9 second pass... In a car that is not focused on straight line performance. Sure , there are faster cars out there but at 4k+ pounds that's impressive

Can't wait to see these on the road and also what the aftermarket does with them. Ford was definitely late to the party, but it seems to be a performer. Not sure about that price tag though.

    I dig your style... but

2020 GT500 comes equipped with a 7-sp DCT Auto so a slipper clutch isn't even in its relm of possibilities..

Also just being a realist... a 8 second pass is a whole lot faster than most people can wrap their head around. I have know idea how much power the 2020 GT500 will be able to handle with OEM parts but we have for sure seen a couple of basic bitch Gen 3 coyotes dip into the 8's with stock shortblocks… just with twins not a PD blower

There's a giant thread on mustang6g about how it was doing mid 11s for normal drivers with stock p4s tires.

The big question is if the c8 has killed the retarded dealer ADM on these things, paying another 50k+ on top of that price doesn't seem like a great deal tbh

I feel like the C8 has definitely taken a bit of the GT500's market but how many people are really going to want a basic bitch base model vette for $70k? And that's a legit question because I dont know... I have been in and owned base model C5 , C6's... and driven C7 vettes and while they always improved model to model they always left a lot to be desired... areas in which the premium models & packages more than made up for it...And my guess is that's where Chevrolet will make their money and likely be right up there with the price of a GT500...

Fk IDK... either way what a fkn time to be a gear head... as long as its not a fkn Dodge

I am just sitting here hoping the knocks the C6Z & ZR1 down in a price range I can justify dropping the cash and adding one to the already over flowing stable... lol. I need a bigger fkn garage

A ton of people are going to want the basic C8. Hell they've already taken enough orders to pretty much sell out the entire 2020 MY before they've even hit the streets. The number should be around 40,000 of them. I think it's easier to justify a "basic" Vette costing $60-70k than a $100k Mustang whose base model starts at $27k.

Either way, like you said, we're in gearhead heaven now more than ever. I know what you mean about Dodge too, but you can actually thank them for releasing the Hellcat, Demon, etc. because it made everyone else step up big time.

For car guys in general, i would say 75% of car people will lean towards a C8 purchase over the GT500. If they had 60-70k to spend and want a new v8 toy.

Current mustang owners or ford only types of enthusiasts are what's going to keep the GT500 sales going.

It's going to be hard to beat a mid engine V8 with a DCT for 60k. Even for 70-80k for a "base".

Remember, as amazing as the GT500 is, it looks like your standard GT. With a better bumper. I think people value the looks of the car more than the performance. Hence why the base C8 is basically sold out. And GM didn't even officially announce the z06 and zr1/zora trims yet. But people are buying the "495 hp" base C8.
Schooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol

I have a manual car but auto IS WAY BETTER THESE DAYS. ACCEPT THE FACTS BRAHS! LOL

Also lol at any retard who buys this with ADM. GT350Rs can be had for less than their original MSRP with barely any miles, I'm sure those owners are really happy they paid 100k for a mustang.

Either way 10.61 is hauling the fkn mail for what it is and not to mention a pretty lazy 1.77 60'... I would still take a GT350R toss on a couple of Beijing Blockbusters and crank the boost up to 11

GT350 looks even more like a standard GT in comparison to GT500, yet people bought a **** ton of them. Coupe like Mustang or Camaro will always have a broader market appeal than a sports car like Corvette.

I always preached the C7 was very practical because of how large the cargo area was. Could easily hold 6-7 large bags, maybe more. Without the practically aspect (thus the whole being the ultimate touring car) kinda went out the window. Guess they only care about that performance now lol.

Yeah, plus several GTs now have the GT350 front and rear bumpers/grills so it's even harder to tell them apart at a distance.

Pre-orders say otherwise on the C8. The C8 is a grand slam. And GM didn't give any insight on the next level C8 yet too. But people went bananas over the base model. It's what people wanted for decades. People that were never corvette fans, want one or had already ordered one. People that didn't like the C7, and maybe came from the C5 or C6, want to jump back in the corvette bandwagon and get a C8. I wouldn't get the base model so i can't choose but if i HAD TO choose i'd get the C8 over a GT500. To me, the GT500 still looks like a GT with a better looking front bumper. The GT350 is the same you're right, and almost the same price as the GT500 lol

Of course. Some people got the ZL1 over the Z06 bcause of the backseat, even though it's useless. There's an insurance break on that too.

But like i said, people go for looks. And if you did that, you'd go for the C8 over the mustang. Same with the camaro. You don't get a camaro for it's looks, you get it because you want a big car with a v8, and a backseat, if needed.

Vettes have always been about performance over practicality. The corvette isn't even that practical. It has room for a chit ton of stuff in the back but can only seat 2 lol. Which means the rear hatch cargo area is useless LMAO.

GM did the right thing, aimed high for their best generation corvette. The C8 will chit all over the C7 in every category once the top tier models start rolling through.

Might as well prepare to trade your grand sport now for one lol

If you get the carbon package, Ford removes the rear seat on the 2020.

I disagree completely. Don't let the fact GM doesn't play that "limited build quantity" game like Ford does distract you from the car being a great all around car. It is very practical. Having backseats isn't something that defines practical for many people, and most who can afford a Vette probably have a family car too. The ability to get 30+ MPG, travel across the country with a **** load of cargo, take the top off, and swing by a race track and record a session on my PDR makes it pretty damn practical. The majority of people buying Vettes aren't worried about hauling kids around anyways.

It has already IMO. And for the C8, there's not even enough hard evidence of it's capability and yet it's still killing the game right now.

Like someone said, what a good time to be a car enthusiast. Doesn't matter what car you go with really, the GT500, C8, or even a WB hellcat, you're winning. These cars are great.

Personally, i'm going with C8 route, the top tier version though lol

GT350s are a chit deal because tires and suspension on PP2 mustangs have them out performing them according to magazine tests (srs) and their flat plane cranks are chit for high power.

No one is seriously racing gt350s without switching out everything. Its our dirty little secret.

The more I think about the GT500 and it's price at $75k the more I like it. The C8 is faster for anyone on the street, but the GT500 looks faster on the track and highway. That being said, a Zo6 C8 is going to fukking eat its lunch. A ZR1 level C8 will obliterate it and if you're paying ADM on a GT500, you're getting an even worse deal. The GT500 is on borrowed time already.

    Umm... Not sure if SRS...

I personally know 2 guys with high HP GT350's... wont blow up their spot because they do a lot of street racing for money (yes even though chances of somebody seeing this in the auto section on BB.com is slim to none... still dat der street code) and they beat on those cars on the reg with little to no issues. And as far as handling is concerned... I own a S550 GT PP2 and have driven stock GT350's and there is a noticeable difference in how the car handles.. and yes that comparison was done on a road coarse not just my ass dyno on the street...

Maybe its just different strokes for different folks... idk. I would still like to own one someday but would like to get into a C6Z first... I need a bigger fkn garage

Who the fuk is gonna but a stang when you can get a mid engine BEAST for the same or even less $ that rivals super cars worth x5 times as much?

You can call me whatever you want as I speed past your generic stang in something that 90% of the population will confuse with a Ferrari.

This comes from someone that drives a mustang. But, the C8 is unreal. Interior, exterior, exhaust note, performance, and PRICE.
