In on this! Ill be 34 in about 3 weeks and I've realized I'm way more happy/comfortable around 240 (6'6"). In my early 20's I was in constant bulk mode and usually hovered around 275-280 but felt like chit and had no definition.....looked yoked in clothes though....which sometimes attracted unwanted attention and usually didn't work for getting girls.
Cut down to 238 over the course of a year or so (see AVI for reference) around 28-29 and my life changed, lulz. I hover around 240-245 now and am the best feeling I've been. I've also come to realize that unless I go on stronger supps, I'm not meant to be a muscle monster.....I feel better, joints, clothes, everyday life when going for the overall athletic look. Weights (in maint mode) 2-3x/week & Cardio based workouts 2-3x/week.

Why not lift to get big? I mean sure you can be lean but looking lean just looks like you're skinny and no one can tell when you have your clothes on so you'll have to make it a point to take your shirt off every where you go if you want people to know you lift.
I mean I by no means lift so that people can know I lift, but when I have clothes on, people know i lift because I look like i lift. It's funny that the convo always steers to working out. So yea don't be in the gym just to be in there, lift to get them gains and look solid and big or else you're wasting your time. That's just my opinion on it.

Yeah man but I only 'got big' for specific life goals so after i found out for certain that I was not qualified to try and obtain those life goals I slowly but surely stopped giving a fuk. Now when i lose like 5-10lbs of fat and become shreddy again I may be like 'who's this ecto twink' but i highly doubt it, i still have good muscle mass despite not working out for idk maybe 2+ years. I don't work out for girls but lettuce be reality 99.9% of hot sloots just want a non-twink low bf% guy to fuk srs.

I always want to look "big", but I know that I can only grow so much from here on out. Will be happy to maintain into old age with the odd hormonal roller coaster here and there.

I think it changes as you get older and start to understand your genetic limits. Getting huge isn't in my cards, but I've always gotten the most comments when I'm lean anyways. Pretty happy to stay lighter these days. I feel better, and not a lot of guys my age are in shape at all, much less sporting visible abs.

im 200 with 4 abs and i've been working out for a decade, couldnt imagine being bigger than this tbh, seems perfect for me and the way my body stores fat and my genetics and stuff.
i used to want to be like 220 but that was briefly in the beginning. looking like you lift is nice, especially in dress clothes.

Coming from the opposite direction. Having about 250lbs now, would like to have a bit less.
But I'm off working hard and getting an injury every year that takes ages to heal.
Now it's rather function that counts.
Trying to learn freestyle swimming. I'm now at two lanes. But still totally uncoordinated legs.
Fashion-wise I had to get a smaller belt this year. No change in weight, though.Cycling, walking, swimming.
No car.

highly agree. I enjoy lifting, now not going to sit here and act like im 100% motivated to lift every damn day cuz im not, but i push myself on the days that i am not motivated, and once im in the gym working out, I get into it and enjoy myself and am glad I did it.
6 times is not necessary but 4-5 times a week is what I do. I have done 6 x a week though.IG: @Gains_Marathon

The only clothes that you look retarded in if you're big are suits, or if you're a weirdo who trains legs too much, basically any pant. Can't have a huge chest and have a suit fit properly.
That being said, the athletic gainsy look is by far the best. Bodybuilders who cross that threshold of aesthetics look ridiculous and are not desired by the majority of women.
The second is relatively easy to achieve and can easily be done while drinking / eating whatever you want and just maintaining a good gym schedule / not working too hard. Have had that physique from 20-30. first takes way more work and looks retarded.

Four days lifting is GOAT.
Prevents injuries and that way you can add some light cardio days too.
Six days lifting makes no sense unless maybe if you are competing or supplementing.
For just a healthy natty fit goodlooking injury free body you don’t need that many lifting days.
Much better off using the other days for recovery and/or light cardio.

once I realized that all my goal physiques were unattainable natty, i stopped caring about being big. i did a couple bicycle rides and achieved awesome results, but the gains quickly disappeared and the sides were too much for me so i'm never doing that chit again.
i feel i look better being 6'0 sub 200lbs anyways. leaner face, look better in suits, etc

What? First pic dude is hooge asf and looks aesthetic as fuark, and you can tell he's been doing this as a lifestyle not for a movie or to play a part
2nd pic, that look is like someone training to play a part in a movie or just to get by, doesn't lift religiously and doesn't eat iron. I'd prefer someone in between 1st and 2nd pic tbh
Kind of where I am at now, just wish i had a little less pudge on the gut and lower back, maybe 3-4 lbs lighter which is attainable, but I like beer too much. I drink on weekends and sometimes 1 time during week if there's a good game on and I go to a sports bar to watch it lolIG: @Gains_Marathon

health cardio and longevity is the way to go
so many people skip out on cardio which is like the most healthiest thing a human can do aside from eat healthy
the benefits are significant and numerous, especially compared to lifting. brain health and heart health, these are the most vital parts of a person. plus oxygen circulation, blood circulation, brain chemical regulation, everything important pretty much.Last edited by 2RDEYE; 10-29-2019 at 10:25 AM.

I always thought you should shot for your natural peak. If you eat healthy and gym regularly and don't jump on the bike then you'll get to where you should be.

I believe you can be big as long as you add in some good quality super sets and giant sets, whilst keeping the reps high and mix these up with overall heavy lifts from time to time.
Also add in some jump rope, farmers carries, cleans, deadlifts with lower weight and more reps and as long as its sustained for longer periods of time it's like doing cardio boyo
**edit
The key is, what we consider big. Ronnie Coleman in his prime/Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson, Kai Green, that's big
I myself wont consider myself big, so I guess I don't have a dog in this race so i'll but out.Last edited by sothrowedmex; 10-29-2019 at 10:35 AM.

I've gotten into sports, specifically Judo and jiu-jitsu.
I don't particularly care about being big or strong.
I'd rather be good.
I'm married 16 years and kids...have no need to be particularly aesthetic.
But I am anyway...I just wear a werewolf mask because it signifies an infiltrator.

Good point, but I have a friend that does BJJ, we got on the ground and he was showing me some moves/ and he's probably 155-165 soaking wet, and I just used my weight and strength and he couldn't budge me, he couldn't move my arms and had a hard time.
It's obvious that's the reason they have weight classes, but in a real fight there are no such thing.IG: @Gains_Marathon
