A HUGE THANKS to SwollenBeast and EVL Nutrition for their amazing generosity of sending
me out a 5lb tub of their newest flavor of Whey Isolate which is Steve Aoki's Strawberry
Shortcake.
I have gone though many different brands of strawberry flavored proteins over the years
and I've been lucky to have picked some good ones but ALL of them were either whey
blends or multi blends which had some form of casein in the mixture. This is my first time
trying a pure whey isolate in a strawberry flavor and I prefer multi blends because they
actually keep me feeling full longer so if I do have an isolate on hand I usually consume
it as my post workout protein source since it digest very fast.

Ingredients:
Whey Protein Isolate, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Medium Chain Triglyceride Powder [medium chain triglycerides (from palm kernel and coconut oil), sodium caseinate (a milk derivative), contains 2% or less of each of the following: silicon dioxide, Sunflower Lecithin], Organic Agave Inulin, Salt, Silica, Freeze Dried Strawberry Pieces, Beet Root Powder (for color), Sucralose
Ingredient Profile 10/10- Looking at the profile it's super solid with 25gm of 100%
isolate protein and 8gm of ingredients to help with mix ability, texture, and of course
flavor and I like the inclusion of the freeze dried strawberries.
Mix Ability 10//10- I mixed each time in a shaker cup with water and if mixed instantly
with practically no foam and the only particles floating are the freeze dried strawberry
pieces which is expected.
Aroma- 10/10- This really makes your room smell like a strawberry shortcake when you
open the tub. When your experiencing the aroma your hoping it's gonna taste the way
it smells and I gave a couple of scoops to someone in a zip lock bag and you could smell
the aroma coming through the bag and I could even smell it in my gym bag later in the day
even when I didn't have the zip lock bag in there any more.
Taste- 8/10- This is a PURE isolate so from my experience with flavors with a twist to
them it's not easy to bring out that twist with pure isolates like it is with multi blends.
This smells like strawberry cake but when you drink it you get a good natural strawberry
flavor almost as if your drinking a real strawberry without being overly sweet. You do get
a slight bite to it at the end almost like the tartness you would get from eating a strawberry.
The cake flavor is what I would call the twist to this flavor and as I mentioned it's tough to
capture with a pure isolate. I think if this was a multi blend the cake part would definitely
come through stronger and it would taste the way it smells, like a strawberry shortcake.
Overall- 9/10- This is a solid ingredient profile, with excellent mix ability, and if you like
strawberry flavored proteins then I think you'll enjoy this one BUT don't expect the flavor
to taste like the more common Nestles Quick Strawberry because this taste more like a
real strawberry and the freeze dried pieces give it more of that authentic strawberry look
and taste. This is a pretty good strawberry flavor but as I mentioned if this was a multi
blend protein formula the cake would definitely come through stronger and really taste as
good as it smells.

This ^^^is one of my favorite ways of consuming protein
Strawberry Peanut Butter Frozen protein pudding.
1-2 scoops of EVL Strawberry Shortcake Isolate
2-2 frozen strawberries sliced
3-2 tbs of chunky salt free peanut butter (Trader Joe Brand)
4- a little water
Mix all the ingredients in a freezer safe bowl until you have a very thick consistency
then cover the bowl and place it in the freezer for about 3 hrs or longer until it hardens.
The finished product once you leave it in the freezer long enough gives you almost a
ice cream type consistency WITHOUT the added sugar.
