    What's considered a decent Bench?

Not sure where else to post this. I'm a beginner, and I really want to have some goals to strive forwards to that keep me motivated. I am currently overweight and have been losing weight in the last few months - knowing the number I want to see on the weight and getting closer keeps me going.

So, what would you considered a decent bench press? I am at around 150 pounds total right now.
(and if we're on it, what's a good dumbbell shoulder press, squat, etc?)

I think it’s how much growth you are making. Decent is when you surpass your bodyweight. But what matters is you progress slowly and not stay in the same weight level.

Yep. A decent lift is one better than you could do a week ago.

What you bench is what you bench. Why compare yourself to others
I get a tax deduction just by hanging out here

i agree with these guys above. dont compare your self to others. i am a HELL of a lot stronger than what i started with, but no wheres near most of the people on here.

there are plenty of strength charts on the internet that compare you to others on your weight scale.

but for me, i stared 135 bench, 135 squat, 80 OHP, and 135 dead lift. all that was at 150lbs, now im almost 200 LBS, bench 210, squat 260, ohp 120, and 270 Deadlift. only took me 4 short years! LOl
