    Squat Box

    Hi

I'm thinking of getting a squat box. I narrow it down to 2 options.

Elite squat box made for box squat

    https://www.elitefts.com/eliteftstm-...-18x16x14.html

I can stack these plyo box into a box squat.

    https://www.repfitness.com/rep-soft-plyo-box

Right now elite is having a sale with free shipping. If Rep has a sale in black friday i will get those.

What are your opinions on these items.

    Thank You

Take a look at the Titan Squat Box, it's one of the few items from Titan that they've gotten right. Haven't had a single issue with mine and less than half the cost of the Elitefts box.

18x16x14 seems kind of high honestly. I'm 6' and although I don't have long legs, my comp depth box is 14.5" and my low box work is on 12". So I would basically be unable to use 2/3 of that box. Something to consider.

I have considered that Titan box, but a number of reviews complain that it's difficult to adjust and that the tolerances are off (different height legs, etc.). Like most Titan equipment, it's probably luck of the draw. In any case, I think the adjustable boxes are the way to go.

i'm leaning towards the crash pad since they are 6 inch each. I can stack them to get 12 inch and just add a plate. I can also used them to drop weights. 2 for 1

It is difficult to adjust, but so are just about every other adjustable box out there as well. I've tried both Elitefts and Rogue adjustable boxes, and those aren't easy either, but the concern with Titan is undertsandable. I probably just got lucky with mine, no issues outside of metal shot all over it when I opened what was left of the box, and poor glueing on the rubber top.

? I dont even know how you can compare those two items. Buy the proper item for the intended purpose.

I have 2 of those Titan boxes. 1 is perfect and 1 has a tiny bit of wobble that can usually be remedied by turning it 90 degrees.

I have the titan box. Since I use it alone I've adjusted it twice maybe 3 times in the year and a half that I've owned it. It took about 7 hours or maybe just 30 seconds every time I did it.

one thing to note mine came with pins with cotter pins through them. I never used them because I had a couple of old pins with the captured ball bearing in the end to make them much quicker to adjust that just happened to be the right size. If I were going to change the height all the time I might ditch the stupid screw pins and just enlarge all the holes to 1/2 inch and use some cheap bolts or hitch pins to adjust it quickly.

That's a good idea. If I ddin't buy a EFS box topper and just slammed the box all the way down and add the topper, probably would do that myself, but now, I find just adding various precut foam on top to be the easier height adjustment rather than messing with their pull-pin/cotter pin setup.

My buddy has a TDS squat box that seems to adjust fast and has held up to whatever he's thrown at it. I don't know if it adjusts as high as the Titan, because I know he stacks a plate or 2 on top of it to do high box squats.

Having had the Titan, it's ok for a home gym, but very slow to adjust. I don't have a box right now, and when I do box squats it's just to my 17" high bench. This thread reminded me that I want to find something adjustable again.
