Saw these sitting in someone’s front yard...

...and I though, “I bet 99% of the people who see these will wonder what the heck they are.”

Nice ingenuity. I wonder how much weight they can hold though.

Good idea. But I think the screws on the pipe base are going to pull out. I'd have drilled holes through and mounted the brackets on the bottom.

The average lifter can't do a 60 second L-Sit. Never lifted but loved parallettes.

I love the ingenuity. Out of college and new job, I built a dip bench, pullup bar and bench with some DBs and put it all in my apartment. I worked too much to join a gym so winged it for a couple of years back then. Not exactly a chick magnet, but wasn't supposed to be.

Lag bolts + secured with a nut on the other end will fix that.

I think you would be surprised at the pull out force of a single screw. In non-rotted wood, a SINGLE 3" screw has aprox 600lb pull out strength in yellow pine (which is what treated wood is made with)

Assuming the pipe bases have 4 screws, and two bases per yoke, that is 4800lbs of holding ultimate pull out force. Cut in 1/2 for the safety factor and you are working with 2400lbs per handle.
