Calves with every workout? Even if sore?

I've read a lot about people working their calves on every workout day. I'm wondering though does this still apply if they're sore from the last workout?

They are a muscle like any other; recovery is needed to make progress. If they are sore I would take a day off personally.

i would still work them out if you care that much about your calves, as much as you can tolerate but start slower and work your way up, maybe start off with 2-3x a week.

every day is a bit much and it's questionable the benefit/effort ratio direct calf training does. you eventually adapt to the stimulus over time and will no longer get sore. there's no rule against training a muscle a few days in a row as long as volume and intensity of regulated
