The Playstation Access channel has a pretty great "Persona for beginners" video up and watching that made me have some sense of the game, so new comers should check that out.
Looks like it's getting some pretty damn high scores across the board ... Cant wait to give it a shot when it releases.

If this provides feels like P4 than it will be amazing.

Yeah of course, I'm a console peasant so 30 fps or even dropped frames here and there are fine ... But considering we now have the Pro and have been promised enhanced games, it's just a bit disappointing they didnt include a patch for the worldwide release ... Maybe it'll happen eventually lol.Sig line can't be a novel

Never played the series, but the high praise across the board has me intrigued. What's a persona? What are shadows? Why are is there dungeons (I don't know the story)? Is it more sci-fi, fantasy, or just weird anime stuff?
I'm playing Tales of Zetiria and while most are saying it's not a great entry into the series, I came in with no expectations and am enjoying it. Do I have to play the other Personas?

Persona's are a manifestation of someone's personality, shadows are the same but take on the evil traits of a person or something like that.
Depends on the game why dungeons are in the game. In persona 4, there was an urban legend of a tv channel that would appear at midnight turns out its a link to a shadow world and that's where the dungeons are. Persona 3 is about some evil corporation doing experiments that causes some giant tower to appear at midnight that serves as the main dungeon.
All games take place in a modern day japan.
Theyre all separate from each other so you don't have to play the previous ones. Just the occasional cameo and Easter egg that references previous games.
Persona games are really story heavy, lot of reading.

there's a lot of carl jung mixed into the persona series. read up on carl jung's terms of persona and shadows. carl jung is like the essence of the games. along with some freud as well.

it's like a psychological game, highschool/life-sim, mixed with demons, tarot, and mystery.
they'll probably teach you the stuff in class as well in persona 5There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.
