Is it really bad because it scares me!

Hey, so I had really bad hyperhidrosis. I would get the whole sweating and then get cold thing and even tried botox to stop! The botox worked only for the area that was treated (armpits) and lasted about a year. I talked to my family doctor ( general doctor, no need for a specialist) and he prescribed 10mg/day of oxybutynin, and, holy ****! It's so much better now! The only thing with this is that it tends to 'dry you out' so I just carry a water bottle around everywhere and bought some dry mouth spray.

Let me know if you have any more questions because I know all about hyperhidrosis unfortunately

Hm, so you're of the 3% affected by this. Sucks man.
One of my childhood friends has this. Started around middle school and just progressed when we got to high school. He got a prescription antiperspirant and I believe he got botox in the areas where it was bad.
Dude would be drenched in sweat while in band. Everyone in school that knew him was cool about it and understanding since it bothered him so much. Thankfully it improved for him and it is nowhere near as bad as it was when he was younger.

My current roommate suffers from this as well, but it is caused by anxiety and depression. He knows that he is getting close to panic attack or some other anxiety related episode when he starts sweating profusely.

Believe it or not, it isn't that bad. Just means you could dehydrate a bit faster if you're not paying attention to your thirst levels. If anything, there is likely a cause that is causing it, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to get that checked out. It also wouldn't be surprising that it is genetically linked for you.
    Just keep on going.
