    Universal athletic position tips.

Can someone explain if I Should feel the tension in my quads, hamstrings, or both when entering the universal athletic position? What is the proper way to enter this position from beginning to end? What are the steps to take to enter this position? Is it simply a hip hinge or squat? Just give me a full breakdown so I can better understand it.This position is used in a lot of Olympic lifting, sports, etc.

I'm confused as to what this is. Are you talking about a crouch? You shouldnt be under hardly any tension at all.

google "universal athletic position how to"

not everything needs to be googled, but you're much better off googling something that simple instead of making a separate thread

    What sport are you doing?
I don't think there is an exact position to be in but a more general one.
I would advise you to learn the kettlebell swing which addresses this position and addresses both hinge and knee bend(not so much of a regular squat)hip snap dynamically as you would in sports.
The hinge and hip snap are basic movements in many sports and with the swing your doing it from standing tall to to a hinge with knee bend and back.
Like in a position to jump but your feet stay in the same place they started at.
Thats my two cents i hope helps some as your question could get several different answers.
