I never driven a German car, let a lone a performance car, but I can see the appeal of BMW and Mercedes. Mercedes you have AMG, big V8, brute power, tail happy. BMW you have a fine tuned high revving machine, all about balance and precision.
Audi? Though they have good styling, Audi seems boring to me. Are their cars actually fun? They're good in bad weather conditions but that's about it. I do like the B7 RS4 and RS4 Wagon. The S7 and RS7 are monsters but only good on highways

I think of audi being the nissan of the big 3 german cars. (japanese big 3 is toyota, honda, nissan). In terms of what you mainly see on the road, not in terms of what is good or not. Although we all know what's good. Personally, if i had to pick a jap car to buy, probably for commuting purposes, it'll be toyota.
And if i had to buy a german car, MB all the way. They are just better.
The RS7 is a monster though. Sound amazing, but they're ugly as chit. M cars look great, but the engine sound, or exhaust sound, sounds like chit.
AMG cars just look and sound good lol. Idk, they have a certain appeal to them. I don't see the appeal to audi. I'm sure they're good cars. But they're still inferior to MB and BMW.Schooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol
I have a manual car but auto IS WAY BETTER THESE DAYS. ACCEPT THE FACTS BRAHS! LOL

lol yeah i saw that. But if you think about it, MB starts the trend for most of what you see in the automotive industry. I think even top gear did a piece on this that the S500 was the first to offer many of the features 5 years out or something before you see it drizzle down to other car makes and models.
Idk, i would still buy an AMG, even if the V8 was replaced with a twin turbo v6.
Like i would get an E63 AMG if it had a TT V6 over an RS5 that's now a 2.9?L twin turbo 6 lol.
Idk, of course this is only my opinion.Schooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol

You sound like you're getting jacked up about the motor more than the overall speed/efficiency of the vehicle where it matters. It's hilarious that the S4 can match performance of other vehicles that have >100 more horsepower.
But if you're a basic b!tch "stats" guy; I.E. like to brag about the cubic inch of your engine, then yeah, Audi won't be your first pick.

Engine makes the car......guy.
Or are you the type of person to pick an EB mustang over the 5.0 because it's cheaper and you can "modify" it to be faster than the 5.0 for cheaper?
And no, audi wouldn't be my first choice, nor my 2nd.
I'd get a kia stinger GT before the S4. The stinger probably performs better too lolSchooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol

As a mechanic, newer Audis are simply more reliable and not oil leak nightmares that BMW and Benzs tend to be. Most go turbocharged now that cause oil blow by issues. Add to that direct injection and you have lots of problems particularly with intake valves getting caked with carbon buildup. You want a reliable car to 200K+ with comfort, power and low maint cost in a German car? Audi A8L. Bimmers and Benz's not a chance.

lmao. i bet you also measure a car perfomance by traffic light to traffic light races. lol
engine does not make a car. a car has to have a balance of engine/suspension/chassis. to be a great car.
old mustangs 5.0 had big engines but chit leaf spring suspension and chit chassis.
it was cool if you had a small dick and all you cared was to have a car that sounded loud to make up for your small penis. useless other than that unless heavily modified.

You didn't understand.
I put the mustang as an example because if you get a mustang, you get it because of the v8. Not because you wanna save money and go with an EB, even though perhaps you could modify it to make it just as fast, or maybe faster than a 5.0, and still end up being cheaper.
That's like saying it's a good idea for GM to go with an turbo 4cyl for their next installment of corvettes.
But wait, they haven't. They stayed with the V8's. In this time of strict regulations and emissions.
V8. Because the engine makes the car. It's not a corvette if it doesn't have the v8.Schooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol

Auto tech here.
To choose between "the big 3" of German manufacturers, I'd go Audi. They are usually far more reliable, better resale value (but to be far german resale value is chit overall) and the 3.0T and 4.2T engines are really impressive. I'm biased to the 3.0T because the eaton TVS is a great blower, and can make tons of power and is dead nuts reliable. Far more reliable than other superchargers. Not to mention it's far easier to find 170k+ Audi's than MB or BMW cars for sale or on the road in general.

I understood what you wrote perfectly. Then you tried to make a different point in this post, yet still wrapped it up with "Because the engine makes the car".
Which it doesn't.
If the point you were TRYING to drive home was "get the top level trim of any vehicle" - Yeah. But what the fuk does that have to do with "the engine makes the car"?

Has nothing to do with the "get the top level trim", i just said i'd get a stinger GT over an S4. I'd probably pick the stinger GT over an RS4. RS4 is the top trim no? I just don't like audi. That's my opinion, hence the whole point to this thread discussion.
I'd get an AMG over an M, and i'd get an M over an audi. Audi would be my last choice of the german big 3.
And also, i'd still get a C63 AMG if they replace the V8 with a 4, over an S4/RS4.
So your top level trim argument in relation to engine size is shot.Schooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol
