I see some familiar faces around here. Hope everybody is doing well I've signed up for a powerlifting meet which is mid December. It's been a long time since I've done any strength training so I'm pretty excited to get into it again.
I'll be running RTS Intermediate Program which is rpe based. This seems ideal since I really have no clue what my 1rm is right now and it will allow to push when I need to.

Looks like you're off to a great start Dave! That looks like a good program with some nice variety. I'll be following along to see how you progress towards your meet. You're going to kill it man!
If in doubt, squat and run hills. So you walk into the gym and don't know what to do? Then squat and run hills. Have a miserable day at work and want to break someone's neck but aren't sure who's? Then squat and run hills. - Wendler

Hi Dave! Glad to see you back in the saddle! Looks like in one week you've already built up to at least where I am in most lifts, if not stronger... Looking forward to seeing you prep for your meet!

Week 2, Day 1
Squat with belt - 265x2@10, 245x5@9
Comp bench - 185x5@9
2 ct paused bench - 155x4@9
I got a little over zealous with squats. It's been quite awhile since I've gone for anything close to rpe 9 so i way overshot today. On the other hand it's good to know that 265 is still there. I'll make that my target for triples next week.
Bench feels great.365 255 480 in April! ...2019

Solid numbers on the deads Dave. I think I've asked you this before, but do you work up to these sets or do you just throw the weight on the bar and go?

Hey guys. Sorry for lack of posting and thanks for the bump. I haven't journalled in a long time and obviously have struggled making it a priority again.
Was a little worried for awhile that the meet wouldn't happen due to them having trouble finding a venue but they did and my payment has gone through so that's great.
Training is going really well. I'll try and get more consistent with my updates. So far my highlights have been a wrapped squat triple at 275 and a single with 305. Bench is slow going and deads as well are definitely showing the lack of consistency lately but things are looking up with the consistency in training. Still another 5 weeks roughly to the meet so I'm sure I'll put in a decent showing.365 255 480 in April! ...2019

Ok let's try this again lol
I finished off week 4 with some block pulls. Top set was 3 x 365. Felt more like an 8 than a 9 so I went for 405 which was a mistake. I'll have 405 by the meet again I'm sure Should have just put 385 on the bar. Did some close grip bench after that and lat pulldowns.
Week 5 starts either Saturday or Sunday with comp squats.365 255 480 in April! ...2019
