Is AC Odyssey worth picking up? Once I finish Valhalla, I think I might want to try that one. Big Greek mythology fan as well. I wonder if there will be a PS5 upgrade for that one.

How far are you into Valhalla? I know more people that get burnt out on Ubi games than make it through and want to play another.

Not far. Just finished exploring and collecting everything in the first part of Norway. This chit is right up my alley though. Odyssey and Valhalla have always tempted me because of the characters that are in them and I’m big on both mythologies but I refused to buy any AC. Now that I’ve broken the streak with Valhalla, I might as well see what the Spartan one is like.

Edit: looks like the $100 edition of Odyssey is discounted for $26. Probably gonna have to pull the trigger on that just because.

Yeah, the whole Monday being a holiday thing delayed their processing a day and then they’re saying the rest of it is because of weather. They issued me a $15 credit and said I should have news in 5-7 days...

I am sick of the ps5 ****. I want bad. I cannot pay a scalper! I never liked them. I’ve had to tell scalpers to leave, and argue with/call the police many times (previous jobs) . Now I don’t have to converse with any of them but yet scalpers are still ticking me off ... in 2021.

You guys are blessed to have gotten a ps5 honestly and fairly.

Over here the 3rd rollout of pre-orders have already started on feb 18th ... So they should get it by next week or within 2 weeks. Dont smaller gameshops or even big ones have like a reserve / waiting list? I put my name down on multiple shops and a few of them contacted me during the second roll out and third roll out to confirm if I wanted to go ahead with the purchase

Fourth Platinum goes to Control. If you play the main campaign and all side missions you will get all but two trophies, which are just a few procedurally generated combat challenges.(kill x enemies in this sector with this gun) .

Very generous plat and the side missions are generally as good as the main story.

I still need to go back and plat GOW. Just need some of the dumb Ubisoft-tier content - I think I'm just missing collectibles.

Did you plat GOW? I enjoyed the Valkyries a ton, then I was working on some of the cleanup tasks and realized I wasn't having fun anymore. I think I just need to find some collectibles but I might be missing some ravens too.

Yes I did. I explore a lot in games and if I remember right I just needed 2 or 3 things after I finished the game.

On top of that making it so that that the dlc is also not available for ps4 players .... ps4cels left in the dust, but at the same time hyuge aaa titles like horizon/gow being touted as cross gen titles. Sony is taking it up the ass this gen.

But as a person who bought a new console, or even was trying to / looking to buying a new console. Sony as a first party company and console dev ought to be prioritizing PS5 players and making them having the best experience possible without being limited to last gen constraints.

In all srsness, I'm fine with certain first party games going cross gen, but honestly sony's biggest titles such as horizon 2, gow 2 being cross gen is a massive joke and a huge slap across the face for people who bought the ps5. Not to mention they actually marketed these games as ps5 titles before backtracking on it. Here's hoping covid delays make it so that they decide to make it on ps5 exclusively instead.

I think you are dead wrong my friend. As long as Sony develops the game for PS5 then downscales chit for the PS4, the PS5 version will not be missing anything due to cross gen besides SSD tech as all GPU and processing is scalable.

Had my PS5 for about 10 days now. It ****ing hates my internet. Heard a lot about 2.4gHz/5gHz network routers being a bitch that it won't play ball with.

First night I couldn't even play it as I had to download all of my **** onto it, and the internet sucked. Since then I've had 3 nights where it's been totally unplayable due to kicking me from games or simply not connecting.

Switch on the PS4 and it's connected instantly, no lag, nothing. Just the PS5 ****ing sucks.




Other than that, I love the controller. I thought people were hyping it and it'd be a letdown, but nah, it's pretty sweet. Can't wait to see how it's really utilised in future games.

Way quicker to do anything non-Internet than the PS4. Still not really worked out the whole party chat aspect of it yet - used to feel really simple on PS4, but TBH I haven't really been putting the effort in to actually work this stuff out.

In short. If you get one, great. If you don't, you honestly aren't missing out just yet.

People who bought FF7R don’t have to pay for the upgrade. Those getting it for free do. It may seem cheap but it makes sense.

Can you not plug it in? I have never tried to have a console on wifi since internet gaming started. Wired is always the best connection. Not that you should have the issues you are having but if at all possible I'd consider making adjustments in your home to have your consoles wired, wifi issues or not.

Wired PS5 has been great for me, like 4-5x the download speed on got on PS4. Games download quicker than I can grab a beer.

People who bought FF7R don’t have to pay for the upgrade. Those getting it for free do. It may seem cheap but it makes sense.

It is cheap. Give the game away free or don't. LoL ... Honestly feel it's a better look to just give a different game if they couldn't strike a deal to give it all like they did with Control.

No option to wire in unfortunately - all Ethernet ports from my router and extender are otherwise occupied by devices that require a wired connection.

Next time we've got the carpet coming out in the living room i'll route a cable under the flooring into an extender, and swap a few cables around. Won't be for some time yet.

Still, it's WiFi ready, so you just expect it to work..

Is the PS5 a lot better than the PS4 pro? I randomly got on Costco yesterday and they were in stock, added to cart, changed my mind and took it out. My wife was like, just buy it and return it if you don’t like it. I was like alright. This is in the span of 10 seconds and they were sold out. Anyway, I’m sure I’ll get the chance again so to my original question, is it even worth shelling out $700 ?
