I'm on some malaysian ps5 group and one dude who claims to be a retailer said that sony has notified them of a possibility that they could start preo-orders or at least will give them a date for the release .. and he said most likely they'll have very few shipments for this year with most of the stock coming in for the second round next year.

Safe to buy a PS4 off Ebay from a random seller?

He only has 1 feedback rating as a buyer. It looks like someone just trying to offload their PS4 along with 5 games. Is this worth the risk or should I just buy from someone who is selling lots of these with high feedback.

Basically

$212 for PS4 with 5 games that moderately peak my interest from seller with no real feedback

or

$240 for PS4, no games but from a guy with 186 product ratings (which is different from feedback?? Not sure what the difference is tbh)


Which would you guys go for? Both consoles are listed as used here.

Ok so now my next question ITT to everyone..

What PS4 compatible games are similar to a game like Resident Evil 2? I'm not really much of a gamer. I mainly bought this PS4 to play all the other Resident Evil games I haven't played yet because the last console I owned was a PS2.

The 5 games that come with the PS4 I just bought on Ebay come with Uncharted Collection and Uncharted 4 which I've vaguely heard of and seem popular and possibly a type of game I'll like.

The other 3 I'd never heard of: Bloodborne, Watch Dogs, and The Last of Us remastered.


Anyway, like I said mainly looking recommendations for anything similar to Resident Evil 2. I like darker/scary games that require strategy basically.

I’ll be playing all the Resident Evil’s. I know 5 & 6 don’t have the best reputation but I plan to play them anyway. I also need to play 0 and will play the remakes for 2 & 3 as well.

I actually wasn’t a huge fan of RE4. It was good but not compared to the original RE1 & RE2


And yeah serious about the last of us. Like I said I checked out after PS2. Last game I ever played was RE4

Not looking to be some serious avid gamer. I actually think video games are a waste of time but lately I’ve noticed I’m wasting time on terrible Netflix and Prime shows I don’t even like.

I switched my workouts to mid-day during the pandemic and have found myself terribly bored at night (when I was normally in the gym)

Figured f*ck it, let’s catch up on my RE games and maybe add in random others that might be similar when I don’t have sh*t to do at night

I’m also ending a part time job I have fairly soon which also happened in the evenings

So I’m really just trying to fill newfound free time. Assumed with PS5 coming out was the perfect time to buy a PS4 fairly cheap. $185 + $25 for shipping was likely as cheap as I was gonna get, bonus it comes with a few games that could be good.

I though the PS5 was costing like $800+. I only took a quick pass, looks like it's closer to $400.

Either way, from what I understand the PS4 games aren't compatible for PS5 anyway. Unless I misread that somewhere too lol

Apparently that's wrong too. I guess it was PS4 that isn't compatible with PS3. Either way, all we're talking about is graphics and those have been overhyped by gamers imo anyway. I'm cool with PS2 graphics. It's the game, not the graphics that make it good. Most will disagree with me in here, but like I said not really an avid gamer so I don't really give a sh*t about that kind of stuff.

I suppose I shot myself in the foot for any new games that come out only for PS5 but odds are pretty good I'll check right back out of video games within a few months. Repeat another decade from now if more Resident Evil games have piled up lol

Sony 900 right now IMO. But TV tech should advance pretty significantly in the next model year or two so it might be worth holding off if you have something serviceable now.

Crash 4 is pretty reminiscent of the Ratchet and Clank. It’s like tied with that as the best platformer this gen. Some are saying better. I’m fine with that too.

So I finally got the latest software update installed. Took me about 3-4 days.

This might be the last time I get to say “this gen”.

That said, X900H is the best bet I agree. That is what I will buy in the next few months. Sony said they will update the firmware too for gaming.

I hope . Found a local mom and pop shop dude that runs a digital shop who said he's secured units from Sony Malaysia. Said he expects to get it around 24th november so hopefully before December I should be able to get it because he lives in another state and needs to courier it. Wish me luck boys.
