Played a few hours today of HZD. I kind of wish I had started with it as the storyline is unfolding where I understand the second game more. I just finished the second deathbringer which was fun. So to see the story on how the world may have ended was good. Obviously there is more there to come but it’s a good watch.

Yeah bro now you're getting why I feel a lil bad for dudes who don't experience the first game first. I had a whole lot of appreciation for the second after knowing all the things it took to get there.

It's like you start a mystery show and you have the answer to the biggest question when it starts.

You'll feel even more so when you continue to play. Anyways I'm back on with some Mass Effect 1 but I'll definitely play through GOW before I go to Ragnarok. I have time.

I haven't watched anything besides the first gameplay trailer that broke the internet but it really does seem like Ragnarok has fixed most of the issues I had with the original. To play that though, the original has to be played first because it's literally half of a 2 part saga.

I really believe Ragnarok will be a must play and it's better you do it sooner before someone spoils the story which WILL happen. Point is, maybe work on the GOW2018 after HZD and then get your hands on Ragnarok.

You'll find large groups of people that complain about everything. Seems like they make their voices louder when something they don't like is getting praise. Not everyone has the same tastes but I'd pay more attention to overall review scores and awards right after my personal tastes. GoW is a combat adventure game, similar to Horizon in many ways. Would think most people that like one would like the other.

Oh yeah there's definitely boring elements to that game that needed improvement for sure. The average Playstation simpleton would dismiss criticism as hating but I'm glad the "hate" happened since Santa Monica acknowledged the issues and fixed them like an awesome company would. Feedback is a hell of a thing.

It's a great game overall but some areas do get tedious. There's some slow backtracking, pacing problems and the enemy variety is low so it feels a little repetitive later on. Also, game severely lacks good bosses which is wild to me. As a GOW fan, boss fights were their bread and butter. I just didn't feel the hype for what big bad guy was around the corner because they were mostly just the same troll creature but in different skins. It was such a wacky choice lol.

But still, solid 7-7.5 game imo and the story and characters are endearing.

Didn't play that Andromeda one because I heard it was ass. Bioware are working on a new Mass Effect though, whether it's good is a totally different question. Most of the creative devs who made those amazing games in the 2010s are gone and replaced by pink hair'd feminists.

Andromeda isnt a bad game. Its not the standard of the trilogy but its a good game. just got picked on because of the glitches at launch

It's great but not amazing. Ragnarok can be amazing if it fixes the original's flaws though. No doubt.

Anyways ****its this may soon be the first game I ever pre order. Haven't done it in my life but why not right.

Story was absolutely stupid and when I got to the end of the game I literally asked myself "wait...that was it?"

I dont think the gameplay was bad by any means. That's a long stretch imo. It was fine, just needed some tuning to be more engaging. Lack of bosses was a big issue I'll give you that one.

I also think saying the story was bad is a long stretch. It started off as a simple request but it does kinda devolve into a bunch of drama. Sort of like how TLOU starts off as a simple request to deliver a girl and chit gets real. The big issue I had with the story is the pacing, namely with the level designs, backtracking and the drawn-out boat segments.

Its weird how opinions could vary so much. Like you said combat in GOW was nothing special and I could be on board with that but you think CP2077 combat is amazing. Lol, that was a snoozefest for me. Speaking of which I had a chuckle over this:

Lol, I’ve never said CP’s combat was amazing. Ever. I think it’s just as good as most other shooters out there - which isn’t saying much. I think they did a decent enough job at it considering they had never released a game with shooting prior.

I've been playing WRC10 with my wheel and pedals, absolute blast. More than got my monies worth.

Then I bought Plague Tale 2 and enjoying it so far however it has a lot of bugs and 30fps is absolutely appalling and unforgivable. It runs like hot garbage 80% of the time. So badly optimised it's ridiculous but i can't be too mad at it because the dev team is pretty small. Definitely a stunning game on par with GoT and probably Horizon FW too, they use a hell of a lot of high quality textures and particle effects. The HDR is squint worthy at times especially in the dark:

^ Nice brah but there's something about the characters that look stiff/off to me. Environments look legit though, no lie but lmao @ 30fpscels. I am never going back.

Gonna pass for now and pick that up next year when it has 60fps and reduced price.

Looking to buy an OLED for my bedroom so I can leave the Q90a in the living foom for TV/sports/general movie viewing and keep the OLED for gaming. I think the C2 may be my favorite right now so I'd pull the trigger soon. Would have to wait a while for delivery so hopefully I'll have it by the end of the year.

I agree with your sentiment @ best game of last gen. Wait till you play Forbidden West tho lol. I think FW missed a few opportunities with the story that could have made the game a 10/10 but besides that, FW is better in every single way.

It has so many beautiful areas but there is this one area I cannot get over. It is so captivating, I wish it was an even bigger place and I could live there IRL. You also get special music that starts playing in the area too. Pepper your angus.

I am struggling. Lots of backlogs. If I really like a game, maybe 3 hours a day. 5 is very rare. Games like Uncharted can be done in a week or two, with a few hours a day.

Even if not for platinum trophies, I don't recommend Naughty Dog games on normal - too easy unless you are just there for the story.

I’m finished hzd. I’m traveling to Ohio. I lived there at the beginning of my adult life. With a special friend. I took her to Indiana last time to my old neighborhoods. To show her around, visit a few relatives I have there, and have a calf brain sandwich together. All of that was to give her a fuller understanding of where I came from and why I’m who I am today. It was therapeutic A d a success No homo. Only bad part was missing my dogs. Not so much. But yunno the dogs missing me. Dogs become extremely bonded to their humans. Just going Ohio late December.

@OT2000 I just had to finish my Mass Effect 1 playthrough cuz I was already in it. Love this series to death. Time to finally switch back to GOW 2018 as of today. I'm only like an hour in but I'd tell you what, it's playing alot smoother than I remember on PS4. It's crazy what a res upgrade and 60fps does for these older games.
