My goodness, the TLOU expansion was a legit masterpiece. Quite short, a few hours only but the story was so well done. And what a punch to the gut. Absolutely heartbreakening. It was like watching an amazing movie that also had some fun gameplay.
Also, the graphics in this seemed a little better than the main game to me.
Overall, as a game, TLOU did have some small limitations in gameplay, design and graphics/animations. But the story left a really strong impression on me. It was the first game I played since Forbidden West that really captivated me.
I would absolutely recommend this game at full $70 to anyone else who hasn't played it before.

Fuking lol. You couldn't just let me enjoy your favorite game in peace. That apparent "gotcha" was just too juicy for a low IQcel but I was expecting it and:
No I don't think so. I stand firm that the pricing was a blatant cash grab. Here's why: most of their fanbase already played it and most of the work for the game aleady done. It should have come out at $40 for everyone. Imagine the goodwill and profits they'd have gotten.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The cinematic in zero Dawn with that latest patch is more hung than The DS on viagra. Geez! It’s pretty cool because I restarted this game and it’s almost all new to me. I DO plan to plat HZD. Don’t care if I’m a nerd. Like Brock Lesnar said, “People can put whatever labels they want on me. I don’t give a sh*t.”

Agreed, HZD is much better than GOW 2018. Especially when it comes to fun, exploration and different enemy types. And just richness of the whole story. So many things happening in that game where's GOW just didn't make me feel like that much was happening. Hard to describe.
I was surprised how great Zero Dawn looked on PS5 as well. I had multiple playthrough on PS4 so I could see the difference. It was crazy going from 30 fps to 4k60. They are making a remaster where they use the Forbidden West models so that should fix the only knocks I have on the game which is weak face animations and loading times. Will definitely upgrade if there's a good upgrade path.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The clarity and polish on RnC is insane but I still think FW wins in size and scope with so much to see. As well as textures. Plus my personal preference is photorealism, I think pulling that off is much harder to do. I have some screenshots on this game that if I show a random normie they will take a good few seconds to realise it's a game.
So far out of all the stuff I've played I'd rank graphics as
1. Forbidden West
2. Demon's Souls
3. Rift Apart
I think most people would agree with these 3 even if they have different choices in the order.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I just think I'm a big sucker for environments and photo realism. I remember spending like 5 mins looking at some rocks by a beach in FW because I couldn't believe the textures were in an actual video game
Edit. This is the exact rock. Seriously, wtf

Currently suffering from Horizon depression. I may do a 3th playthrough soon.
Only 4 options come to mind and I'll rank them in order
1. Zero Dawn and its amazing DLC if you haven't tried it. It's the only game on FW's level and even better in the story aspect as well as end game scenario.
2. Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Extremely high replayability. It's a linear Sci fi experience but it FEELS open in a sense due to the many missions on worlds you encounter. Rich lore and strong RPG elements where your decisions will greatly affect the story and your relationships. Fantastic, esp ME2 and 3.
3. Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is open world and awesome imo. You'll definitely enjoy it but it still didn't captivate me as much as FW.
4. Witcher 3. Stunning game, minus mediocre combat. The only non-Horizon actual open world that blew my socks off. Only reason it's not at #2 is because they are working on a remaster that should come out this year. I'd hold for now and play that.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Why do I love, even excel at turn based rpgs but have a bitch of a time finding my grove in Demon’s souls, blood borne, and Elden ring? What is there a trick to getting skilled in such unforgiving rpgs like those??? Or just that I am more interested in dragon quest, fire emblem, and octopath traveler so therefore I’m better at them? It annoys me because I tried even forcing myself to like bb, DS, and Elden wang.

Cutting out rice, milk, potatoes, and oats. For awhile anyway.
Eggs, fish, Poultry, lobster, peas, and steak strictly from now on. Only drinking coffee, water, and beer too now on.
Not even going to eat sushi for rest of year. Damn. That feels harsh.BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

Dang I was really hoping you played Zero Dawn first. It's a mystery game of her origin story as well as the origin story of the world and how it came to exist. Finding out about the old ones and that she was a clone of Liz was a monumental part of the series. Would have loved FW far more if you knew all the things that led her there.
Also, make sure you get the complete edition and play the DLC after you're done with the main game. It's the best DLC I ever played.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I mean if that's all you meant by your barrage of comments accross multiple threads we were on the exact same page this whole time. I just never saw a comment anything close to "absolutly recomment for $70" until you played it....
But glad you finally got to enjoy Playstation's best game. Too bad it wasn't before it was outdated. Imagine experiencing that in 2013

Have you played Days Gone?

None of my posts are incongruent. I would recommend it to a fan of the zombie genre who never played it and wants a great narrative experience.
That aside, it still is a cash grab at that price and if someone doesn't have the disposable income as me, there are a dozen games I'd recommend over it. I gave it an 8/10.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I know I made it clear how excited I was to try the tlou series but was just waiting for the remake.
My initial giant disappointment came from their marketing in which they heavily implied it was a hard remake with TLOU 2 gameplay and reworking of level design to match modern times. I was hyped as fuk.
When I got over that and played it with the expectation of ps3 limits like arena design and AI I was fine with the game itself. But it still should be 40 tops.
If they delivered the original idea of a total overhaul well hell yeah man I'd throw 70 at them.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I’m going to exclude lobster too, because I can’t enjoy it without a pound of butter.
Yeah just sushi, and steak, are my top 2 favorite foods. And when I eat my favorite foods I tend to overeat on it. So should avoid sushi really for that reason anyway. I never have one, without the other. I can’t have sushi rolls, or enjoy sashimi without white rice. Then I tackle the shrimp and chicken tempura…. Omg. And the breaded deep fried veggies, and tofu, that comes with the platter. Then a hibachi lobster and beef to go. I mean it’s best I avoid sushi. Even if I agree Japanese food is he really generally healthy , light, and I love the nation of Japan.
Being on this diet (minus the lobster tail as said) everything tastes so good. I find my tastebuds craving orange roughy and green peas. After my ground Turkey with mustard and green peas I can’t stop thinking about my next sitting.
People tell me well you still gotta have fun sometimes deathstroke. Treat yourself. Luckily I only need a steak to have fun. You can’t have too much fun with beef. Sushi on other hand… eh. Can’t control myself.
It’s a discipline self control thing cutting out sushi and seafood too. I hit myself in the forehead if need to, or hit the heavy bag, or I think of my parents doing it.Last edited by Deathstroke; 10-14-2022 at 12:26 PM.
