    being sick

I'm talking sinus infection/head cold. how does it play a role in muscle building/recovery?

had a pretty crappy sinus infection for a week, but diet hasn't changed (just can't taste **** lol), neither has training, maybe just up a little more at night but sleep is still okay. does being sick really have that much of an effect if you keep these things in check?

    No.

Simple as that. A week is not long enough to effect anything. Likewise if nothing has changed except you are taking medicine then nothing is different.

Just get more sleep and eat nutritional food sources to help combat your cold and rest during your rest days.
