    Treadmill Recommendations

Looking to replace my 20 yo Nordic Track treadmill for my home gym. Recommendations? Is it possible to get something of decent quality in the $1-$2k range? A few years back, the thinking seemed to be “go commercial.” There seem to be more options out there today. Thoughts?

This will whet your appetite: https://www.fitnessdepot.ca/J11QMO30...list_limit=all

If I was going to buy a treadmill, I'd get one of the NordicTrack 40% INCLINE ones. $2,000, a fantastic warranty and a killer incline. https://www.fitnessdepot.ca/J11QMO30...e-trainer.html
    Always buy an extended warranty.
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

It's easy to not be afraid of tigers when you're sitting in your living room watching a television program about tigers. When you're in the jungle where the tigers are, it's quite a different story.

I would stay away from Nordic Track and the like and shoot for ether a used commercial unit or a quality brand that's been building treadmills for a long time and considered top quality. Precor and True have some quality choices around $2000 which is a good start.

Yes more options and more junk is the problem. The basic parts to make a decent treadmill start around 2k, then running more often on it and fancy features make that price go up. Ideally if you can stop into a specialty fitness store they should be able to give you some good options.

My parents have had there True Z5 for 20 years now. But they spent almost 3k.

When I bought my Trimline 2200 in 1996 for $1200, I was warned off of a few treadmills including the NordicTracks. My Trimline is still humming along and the NordicTracks ain't what they used to be. Their treadmills are spectacular and not ridiculously priced. If my Trimline eventually conks out, I'd buy this guy in a heartbeat: https://www.fitnessdepot.ca/J11QMO30...e-trainer.html

Look for a used commercial grade treadmill and then do the research on the models you find.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Trimline back in the day was pretty good for an entry level quality treadmill. Interesting, NordicTrac didn't start making treadmills till 1998 when ICON took them over, but i would stay away from most of them these days.

I guess I'm wrong about what I was warned against. If it wasn't NordicTrack, I can't think what else it could have been. I'd still buy the one I linked to if my Trimline ever conked out.

I recently upgraded my NordicTrack machine as well. I really wanted a rower but my wife said otherwise, maybe I'll be able to snag one over Black Friday. Anyway, I went with the x22i incline treadmill, it's been awesome for me so far. I've only had it a few months so I can't say much for the long run but over the few months, it's been great. Check them out here (https://www.nordictrack.com/treadmills) if you haven't already.

I almost wish my treadmill would die so I could justify buying the X9i, their least expensive incline trainer. The greatest running workout in the world is 10 second all out hill sprints and that treadmill was born for it. I'm sure that your satisfaction will continue. They have a fantastic warranty.

On the plus side, the electronic display on my Trimline stopped working a few days ago!
